Drive time: Porsche is the official sponsor of all FaZe clan teams

FaZe clan announced a landmark partnership with Porsche, expanding the luxury German car manufacturers’ ever-expanding esports portfolio.

Porsche first dabbled into esports when they announced its three year partnership in 2021 between Porsche Korea and League of Legends team, DRX until 2024. The manufacturer hoped to contribute to the success of domestic esports teams through the sponsorship of DRX.

FaZe Clan: In the driver's seat with Porsche

In early 2022, Porsche announced its first factory esports team, partnered with Coanda eSports. Coanda eSports was one of the most successful Sim Racing teams in the world, if not the best. This partnership formed the Porsche-Coanda eSports Racing Team, being the second dabble in esports by the manufacturer.

With it being one of the biggest collaborations by Porsche, it becomes the official sponsor of all FaZe clan teams. They will be working to release digital collectibles and other items in the Web3 space.

Since going public in 2022, FaZe clan has struggled to increase its market cap. This partnership is seen as welcomed one. The org recorded a sizable loss as of late that hasn't gone unnoticed. Leadership has made remarks in regard to the survivability of the organization if it doesn't take a turn.

Porsche hopes to put itself in the driver's seat with consumers at the intersection of gaming and youth culture. It shows the growing acceptance and billed as a first-of-its-kind, the partnership spans several media and will launch a content series with FaZe Clan members. Will the deal pay off? Time will tell.
