Blizzard has confirmed its attendance at gamescom 2024, which will take place in Cologne. The event will showcase two of Blizzard's 2024 launches, including World of Warcraft: The War Within and Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred. It will also bring Overwatch 2 to the European community. Blizzard's participation in Gamescom 2024 was first teased back in April when the company announced the cancellation of BlizzCon 2024.
Blizzard enters gamescom 2024
This year's event will feature Blizzard with a "robust footprint alongside other Xbox Game Studios in the Xbox booth" as well. The goal of this will be to celebrate upcoming games while connecting with the European and global community.
"We are incredibly excited to bring Warcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch to our European community at gamescom," Blizzard president Johanna Faries said. "It’s wonderful to be able to travel to Cologne alongside some of our talented developers so that we can gather with players and celebrate the special connections that continue to be forged within our universes together."

World of Warcraft: The War Within at gamescom 2024
According to Blizzard, the upcoming World of Warcraft: The War Within expansion will be celebrated at gamescom 2024. The launch date of this expansion will be Aug. 26, which will be a day after the in-person event. However, it should also be noted that those who have either the physical Collector’s Edition or Epic Edition of the expansion will be able to get early access starting Aug. 23.
Diablo 4 and Diablo Immortal at gamescom 2024
Meanwhile, Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred will be featured at the event. This activation will be joined by the Diablo Immortal mobile game.
Overwatch 2 at gamescom 2024
Finally, Overwatch 2 will get a joint booth with Porsche. This area will feature a giant D.Va statue inspired by the all-electric Macan. The joint stand will also be "inviting fans to enter a real-life rendition of an iconic Overwatch 2 map."
More information will be revealed soon. As for gamescom 2024 itself, it will take place between Aug 21. and Aug 25.
