This might be the closest you’ll get to the OG Pump Shotgun!

It’s been 653 days since the Pump Shotgun was available in Fortnite’s core game modes. Chapter 2 Season 7 marked the last appearance of the fan-favorite Shotgun in the loot pool. Since then, the Pump has remained in Fortnite’s dreaded vault.

Rather than bringing back the Pump Shotgun, Epic Games has introduced various variants, including the Havoc Pump, Striker, Thunder, Maven, etc. However, a recent update brought back the familiar OG Pump Shotgun to Fortnite, but it has a different name and adjusted stats.

Is the Pump Shotgun back in Fortnite?

To answer the question bluntly, sort of. Epic Games silently reintroduced the Pump Shotgun into Fortnite as the Sharp Tooth Shotgun via patch v25.11. The similarities are uncanny; the Sharp Tooth has the same appearance and sound but slightly different stats.

Although the Sharp Tooth has a tighter spread and improved range, it offers a familiar experience to long-time fans who miss the OG Pump Shotgun in Fortnite.

Here is a look at the stats per rarity via Fortnite Fandom:

Uncommon

  • DPS – 69.77
  • Damage – 102.6
  • Magazine Size – 4
  • Fire Rate – 0.68
  • Reload Time – 4.725 seconds
  • Structure Damage – 77

Rare

  • DPS – 73.44
  • Damage – 108
  • Magazine Size – 4
  • Fire Rate – 0.68
  • Reload Time – 4.5 seconds
  • Structure Damage – 81

Epic

  • DPS – 77.11
  • Damage – 113.4
  • Magazine Size – 4
  • Fire Rate – 0.68
  • Reload Time – 4.275 seconds
  • Structure Damage – 86

Legendary

  • DPS – 80.78
  • Damage – 118.8
  • Magazine Size – 4
  • Fire Rate – 0.68
  • Reload Time – 4.05 seconds
  • Structure Damage – 89

The Sharp Tooth Shotgun ranks slightly behind the Havoc Pump in Fortnite’s current state, but it certainly has redeeming qualities.

Will the original Pump ever return?

Epic Games has been resistant to bringing back the Pump Shotgun that many have loved since Chapter 1. While the reason is unclear, the developers have offered unique Shotgun variants to keep the game fresh.

Players can still utilize the OG Pump Shotgun in Fortnite Creative Modes, so your best bet is to queue into Zone Wars or another map. The Sharp Tooth Shotgun is now the closest option in Fortnite’s public playlists.

You can find the new Pump Shotgun in public matches on the ground, regular Chests, and Rare Chests.
