Sam Fisher in Fortnite? Here’s what we know about the rumored Splinter Cell collaboration!

Fortnite's "Gaming Legend Series" has paved the way for several video game characters to get in-game skins. The lengthy list includes Ryu and Chun-Li from Street Fighter, Master Chief from Halo, Doomslayer from Doom, and even Kratos from God of War. With 2025 underway, a Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell x Fortnite collaboration could be coming soon based on reliable rumors within the scene.

Here's what we know about Sam Fisher's potential debut as a Fortnite skin.

Splinter Cell x Fortnite: Everything we know so far

The details surrounding this potential crossover are ambiguous, but stem from a legitimate source. Nick Baker of the XboxEra Podcast first reported Splinter Cell x Fortnite on Dec. 21. Although the root of this source is unknown, Baker has accurately reported Fortnite's collaborations with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Doomslayer, and more.

However, it's worth reserving judgment and excitement until more concrete details emerge. Crossovers occasionally don't come to fruition, such as the highly-anticipated Metroid partnership that would have introduced Samus Aran into Fortnite. In any case, the game's recent history indicates that Epic Games wants everything in Fortnite.

Who is Sam Fisher?

Splinter Cell is likely a series unfamiliar to those within Fortnite's target age demographic. The inaugural game, "Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell," debuted on November. 18, 2002. Revolving around the series' protagonist, Sam Fisher, Splinter Cell's gameplay relied heavily on stealth, instantly sparking comparisons to the Metal Gear series.

Sam Fisher didn't take long to become an icon in gaming culture. The first Splinter Cell game spawned six sequels — the most recent sequel was released in 2013. The series has remained dormant for the last 12 years, with no serious discussions of another sequel. However, Ubisoft confirmed that a remake of the first game is being developed.

A Fortnite collaboration seems out of the blue, but perhaps this could mean the series will return sooner rather than later. We'll have to wait and see what more comes of these rumors as Fortnite's list of crossovers grows by the day.
