Nina and Vader win The Milk Cup Qualifier 1 Main Event 2025

After duking it out on May 1, Fortnite duo Nina and Vader claimed the ultimate Victory Royale. Their final score was an incredible 396! Facing off against 49 other teams in a custom lobby, they held strong across six games by racking up eliminations, managing Storm Surge, and cleverly outbuilding their opponents. Nina and Vader also held a top spot on the leaderboard for most of the tournament, and despite the pressure, they remained calm and focused.

In the winner's interview with Elisabeth Marchini, Nina credited her confident gameplay to her trust in her duo. Vader, who took on the in-game leader (IGL) role of the two, called the shots and made sure that they both avoided unnecessary plays. While other teams became more aggressive, Nina and Vader aimed for consistency.

"We just stuck with our game. We didn't want to overdo anything," Nina said. "We knew we could keep the lobby, but we just wanted to play it safe. And then we needed to be consistent to at least be first for the whole tournament."

"I honestly felt no nerves."

Nina continued, revealing that she felt no nerves heading into The Milk Cup Qualifier 1 Main Event. Instead, she was genuinely excited to compete against top-tier duos like Moxie and Regsita plus Fraanticc and Kanary. For context, Moxie and Regsita alongside dieyuhs won the circuit's inaugural championship last year.

Despite being underestimated in the past by doubters, Nina said that she and Vader proved themselves with their victory. "I did it. I'm here now," she said, adding that to succeed, players must keep pushing themselves to be the best.

"You just have to do it. You have to keep pushing. You can't stay not motivated. You have to be motivated to be the best and just always to push forward."

How The Milk Cup creates a lasting impact

As noted, The Milk Cup Qualifier 1 Main Event is an all-women's Fortnite tournament. Created by Gonna Need Milk alongside key folks such as ThePeachCobbler and MilkPEP's Jennifer Grubb, it champions women in the esports scene. To Nina, the circuit as a while is a great opportunity for folks to showcase their talent.

"You know, before, we didn't really have anything in the women's scene of Fortnite," she said. And just to have something like this — like [The] Milk Cup — it feels great. Everyone can compete. Everyone can show off their talent. It really just feels great for everyone. Not just me. Everyone."

In addition to putting women Fortnite players in the spotlight, The Milk Cup also supports women behind the scenes. In an interview with esports.gg, Raidiant founder Heather "sapphiRe" Garozzo, who's also one of the key folks behind the circuit, said that The Milk Cup's high-quality broadcasts help players feel like they're the main event.

It's that kind of support that can inspire women to pursue careers in production, marketing, and other esports operations. To sapphiRe, it's about building a future for women in the industry. And that future is already taking shape thanks to people such as Squid from Women of the eRena (WOTE) and caster Taco, who both continue to play active roles in the space.
