What are the most hated Fortnite skins of 2025? We’ve collected data and fan sentiment to narrow down a list!

For every Fortnite skin that people love, there always seems to be at least one or two that fall on the opposite side of the spectrum. The year 2025 was no different. We saw several instant classics this year, including Godzilla, The Power Rangers, Hatsune Miku, and Ghostface. However, 2025 was not exempt from collabs and other Fortnite skins the fanbase hated.

While the details aren't definitive, we have gathered data from the Fortnite GG database and general fan sentiment to compile a list of the most hated Fortnite skins of 2025.

Wookiee Team Leader

The Star Wars-themed Galactic Battle season was one of the most underrated of 2025. While many players stepped away from the game around this time, fans of the multi-million-dollar media franchise saw the likes of Emperor Palpatine, General Grievous, and even Darth Jar Jar become playable in-game.

However, it was a Star Wars twist on a classic Fortnite skin that had players furious. Wookiee Team Leader provided a cross between the beloved Wookiee and Fortnite's Cuddle Team Leader. Unfortunately, it holds over 5,000 negative votes on Fortnite GG.

Critics across social media called the design lazy, with it being just a reworked version of one of Fortnite's most prominent characters. Also, it didn't help that it was part of the Star Wars Battle Pass.

The Harry Potter Hogwarts collab

Fortnite ended the year with a Harry Potter collaboration that leaked a few months prior. It eventually became one of the pillars of Winterfest 2025, but it could go down as one of the most underwhelming crossovers to date. Rather than including iconic characters like Harry Potter, Hermione, Ron, or even he who shall not be named, the partnership presented generic "Hogwarts" skins.

Similar to the Tron and Ghostbusters collabs, Fortnite players could choose between one of the various skins depicted above and rotate through the four houses: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, or Hufflepuff. Overall, fans felt it left a lot to be desired, regardless of whether actual characters will arrive later.

This crossover also drew considerable criticism because of Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling's transphobic beliefs. One post addressing this subject received over 2.7 million views, which ultimately added to the negativity surrounding these skins.

Dupli-Kate from Invincible

This is an interesting entry because the skin itself isn't bad by most metrics and fan sentiment. However, fans lost their minds over the obstacles you had to overcome to unlock the Dupli-Kate skin for free. She debuted as part of the Party Up Spring Raid Questline, which tasked players with finding a friend to accompany them.

You then had to earn thousands of XP through Creator-made or Epic experiences. Many players who usually play by themselves accepted the fact that they'd never have the chance to complete those Quests. Beyond that, some players voiced their displeasure with Dupli-Kate's design.

Kim Kardashian

Now the Kim Kardashian collab is a situation where what you read and reality are two different things. The discourse surrounding Kim Kardashian's arrival in the game has seemed mostly negative. Social media critics have given the impression that it is the most hated Fortnite skin of 2025.

However, a statistic that emerged via Fortnite GG and leaker Jorge_Most paints a different picture entirely. As of Dec. 20, the Kim Kardashian skin has appeared in over 37 million matches since it debuted in the Item Shop on Dec. 13. That shows that, while the immediate reaction was adverse, the numbers don't lie.

Online critics would've had you believe that this collaboration would flop immediately, but it's one of the most successful based on these metrics. That doesn't necessarily mean it's beloved across the board, though. The critics still exist, and their opinions contributed to the negative sentiment around this partnership.

There are plenty more skins in the Fortnite scene that have drawn negativity from some of the player base. Some dislike the overall design and appearance of the characters, while others have words about the real-life implications of certain celebrities in the game.

Regardless, these are just a handful of the many Fortnite skins fans hated for one reason or another in 2025. It's entirely subjective, as something one person doesn't like might be different for another. We expect more of this as the game continues growing in 2026.
