The HoYoverse just expanded quite a bit, as miHoYo’s partnership with Epic Games just deepened with a Fortnite collaboration and more.
The popular Chinese game development company, miHoYo, has been partnered with Epic Games for years now, but with its news that Honkai: Star Rail will be joining Fortnite, fans are anticipating a realm of possible collaborations for the future between the two gaming companies.
MiHoYo deepens partnership with Epic Games
Since 2021, miHoYo has been a proud partner with Epic Games. However, the only real aspect of this partnership was the fact that Genshin Impact was available within the Epic Games Store. Well, it looks as if the partnership is officially growing, as miHoYo announced the soon-to-be presence of Honkai: Star Rail in Fortnite.
So, what does this mean? Well, for starters, we know that Fortnite may see more collaborations regarding different games in the HoYoverse. These include titles such as Genshin Impact, Zenless Zone Zero and more. This also means that all of the games made by miHoYo might become downloadable within the Epic Games Store sometime in the next year.
We already know that downloading Honkai: Star Rail through the Epic Games Store will unlock exclusive Fortnite cosmetics. So, what’s next?
MiHoYo tease the use of Unreal Engine 5 for new projects
During the latter end of 2025, miHoYo revealed that Unreal Engine 5 was being used for future projects. With the popularity behind Unreal Engine, many new quickly that the HoYoverse is about to become even more gorgeous than it already is.

What else does this mean? Well, Unreal Engine is also owned by Epic Games, giving us more insight into this partnership, since we know now that miHoYo is using the popular game developing engine.
While Unreal Engine has been popular for some time now, Fortnite has given the program an entirely new name with UEFN, which allows anyone to create their own maps and games within Fortnite.
The possibilities are endless for the HoYoverse as the company marks a new chapter in its story by deepening its partnership with Epic Games.
