Queasy, Jur3ky, and Trulex take home the Season 6 European FNCS Championship.
Season 6 Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) culminated in an epic Grand Finals. The former, Hen, Chapix, and JannisZ, battled through difficulties to finish in the top 10. A new champion arose while winning three matches. Wave Jur3ky, LootBoy Queasy, and Glorious Trulex became the Season 6 EU FNCS Champions.
Queasy, Trulex, and Jur3ky hoist the FNCS Champion Pickaxe
The duo of Aleksa "LootBoy Queasy" Cvetkovic and Nikola "Glorious TruleX" Krudulj reunited at the beginning of the season. They succeeded together but now looked for a third to complement their chemistry and playstyle. "Wave Jur3ky" appeared at the right time and the EU FNCS trio formed.
In the Week 1 Qualifier, the trio struggled to make it past Round 2. They came back next week and narrowly missed a Top 3 to auto qualify for Grand Finals. Instead, the team took the difficult path and qualified through Heats into Grand Finals. Queasy, Jur3ky, and Trulex were heating up and beginning to play their best Fortnite at the right time.
Then in Grand Finals, the trio continued their hot streak. Known as a high-ground team, the trio consistently found themselves on the high ground position. Their strategy won them three out of twelve matches. All three Victory Royales came with eight or more eliminations. Outside of the victories, Queasy, Jur3ky, and Trulex consistently made end games. They soaked up a total of 227 placement points while finishing with the best average placement. Their pop-off victories combined with that consistency earned them the title of FNCS Champion!
Following the tournament victory, Jur3ky turned on his stream to celebrate with his fans. His face showed it all, pure joy from cheek to cheek. Shortly after, his parents walked in to join the celebration. They shared a hug and moment together that would make anyone emotional. Before Grand Finals, Jur3ky shared an old tweet about working towards that exact moment he embraced with his parents.
MrSavage, Refsgaard and Endretta fall just short after leading all day
During Day 1, Martin "100T MrSavage" Foss Andersen, Oscar "Falcons Refsgaard" Dalgas Refsgaard, and Endre "NVD Endretta" Byre looked strong. They impressed during the 11 elimination Victory Royale in the second match. To most viewers, they stood out as the team to beat. Unfortunately, they were beaten on Day 2.
By no means did MrSavage, Refsgaard, and Endretta perform poorly on Day 2. They only had one bad match on the day, match 11. That left a small opening for teams to overtake them. Queasy's trio jumped at the opening and left no opportunities for comeback.
MrSavage, Refsgaard, and Endretta finished in second place overall. Their top 3 placement secures the trio a spot in the next two events. Individually, the trio can compete in the Solo All-Star Showdown. Additionally, they earned direct qualification to the Season 7 FNCS Grand Finals. As long as they stick together, this trio will be a force to watch out for in upcoming competitions.
Difficulties off spawn leave the former FNCS Champs in 4th place
Heading into FNCS, the Season 5 FNCS winners of Henrik “Guild Hen” Mclean, Jannis “Guild JannisZ” Matwin, and Moussa “chapix” Fh looked like a clear favorite. They dominated events throughout the season and prepared for another FNCS title.
Their toughest take would come at their dropspot, Craggy Cliffs. Hen, JannisZ, and Chapix knew another team planned to land there. The other trio, Night, Vortex, and hycris, historically land at Craggy. Neither trio projected to win the event while contested. Rarely, teams perform well when contested. This held true for both teams.
Hen, Chapix, and JannisZ finished in 8th place. Hycris, Vortex, and Night finished in last. Both trios expected higher placements. The former champions won most of the off spawn fights. In the end, the drawn-out engagements used vital resources that cost Hen, Chapix, and JannisZ in Day 2.
