Fortnite has dropped its Superman update, allowing players to become the superhero in a given match. Here’s what to know!
The Superman x Fortnite update is officially live as of 9 a.m. ET on July 11. As a result, players in a given match can locate "Superman's Call," allowing them to become Kal-El and wreak havoc on everyone beneath them. Only one player per match can obtain it, and there's a 50% chance it will spawn.
This article explains everything you need to know about this ability, including when it will spawn and how you can increase your chances of obtaining it first.
How to get Superman's Call ability in Fortnite
Similar to becoming Godzilla earlier this year, the Superman ability won't spawn until after the first Storm Circle begins closing. Since there's a 50% chance of it spawning, down from 100% when the update dropped, it may take a few attempts to find it.
Rather than a portal, a Superman logo will appear on the map. You must head to the location where it spawns and walk into it to become Superman. The map above gives you an idea of the general area Superman's Call will spawn when the time comes.
What happens when you become Superman?
Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR published a video of what happens when you are the first to reach Superman's Call. Your character will instantly transform into the character and launch into the air with a fun cinematic. Then, you can begin flying around the map while using the hero's abilities.
The two abilities include laser vision and a powerful punch attack that throws enemies backward. Opponents can inflict damage and chip away at Superman's health. Otherwise, the entire experience lasts five minutes of in-game time.
For those who don't make it to Superman's Call fast enough, your job is to work with the others on the map to take him down as quickly as possible. He will always have the Superman mark above his head, giving you an idea of his location at all times.

Unfortunately, with a 50% spawn rate and everyone else in the lobby desiring to become Superman, it won't be easy. However, you can increase your chances by doing the following:
- Land in the general area outlined earlier in this guide. This will give you the best opportunity to be closer than the others in your lobby.
- Gather mobility items such as a Grapple Glove or Robin's Grappler to ensure you can move quickly across the map.
- Secure a vehicle to increase your movement speed further, leading up to when the ability becomes available.
- Eliminate all enemies in your area to ensure fewer players are heading for the ability.
It's certainly not easy, as many things have to go in your favor actually to become Superman in Fortnite. The reality is that you have to exercise patience and persistence.
