A Snapchat leak revealed the first look at Marvel’s Magik and Luna Snow skins in Fortnite, and fans are not happy.

A blunder by Xbox on Snapchat has given Fortnite fans their first look at Marvel’s Magik and Luna Snow skins in-game. The designs seem to draw from their appearance in the hero shooter game Marvel Rivals, but the key art indicates something different.

This unexpected revelation sparked outrage from fans, especially regarding Luna Snow.  Here’s how this situation played out on social media.

Snapchat leak reveals Magik and Luna Snow in Fortnite

This collaboration leaked several weeks ago. Epic Games previously worked with the team behind Marvel Rivals to welcome Doom 2099 into the game, so a follow-up seemed inevitable.

Sure enough, Epic Games will soon add characters Magik and Luna Snow to the game. Ahead of their release, the official Xbox Snapchat account leaked the designs as posted by ShiinaBR.

However, the Marvel Rivals branding is noticeably absent, which has led fans to wonder if this is merely a Marvel collab as the key art suggests. It does appear that both characters take liberty from their appearance in Marvel Rivals.

Luna Snow has her blue outfit, black jacket, and short shorts, while Magik has an all-black, almost latex outfit. Although this first look is premature, it’s about the best you can ask for without leakers posting the skins beforehand.

There is a definite Fortnite twist on Fortnite’s versions of Magik and Luna Snow, which sparked backlash from passionate fans.

Fans outraged at inaccurate portrayal of these Marvel characters

The response to Luna and Magik has been overwhelmingly negative. While some understand that Epic had to “Fortniteify” these characters, the consensus is that this is an injustice.

Many critics have pointed out that the initial leaks led fans to believe this was a Marvel Rivals crossover. However, as stated above, the game’s branding does not appear on the key art.

Whether Marvel Rivals or not, the vocal majority voiced their displeasure with these designs. User ChancetheUnrapper on the Fortnite Leaks subreddit believes Magik and Luna look better in the Rivals art style.

Others responded more positively, praising Magik particularly, but few could agree that Luna’s design is appealing. Either way, these skins should arrive in the next week or so. It will be interesting to see if the sentiment shifts.
