Fortnite Winterfest 2025 is rapidly approaching, but when does it start? Here’s when we expect it to begin and what Epic has planned!
Winterfest is one of the best Fortnite events every year. It features free cosmetics, holiday-themed in-game items, and sometimes a cozy cabin where you can open presents. Since December just began, Fortnite Winterfest 2025 is around the corner, but when will it start exactly?
This article outlines everything we know, including when we expect it to start and what you can expect.
When is Fortnite Winterfest 2025?
All we know for sure is that Winterfest 2025 will begin sometime after Thursday, Dec. 11. A Fortnite update will occur on that day, reportedly building up to the Winterfest update. Unfortunately, neither Epic Games nor any of the reputable leakers have confirmed a date.
Historically, Winterfest 2024 began on Friday, Dec. 20; Winterfest 2023 started on Thursday, Dec. 14; and the 2022 iteration began on Tuesday, Dec. 13. Based on those start dates, it's safe to assume Fortnite Winterfest 2025 should commence anytime between Dec. 11 and Dec. 20.
The exact day remains up in the air because the past three Winterfests fell on completely different days. However, while those details are unclear, we do have an idea of what to expect when the event arrives.
What can I expect at this year's Winterfest?
Epic Games has once again prepared a generous offering for Winterfest 2025 attendees, from a new Hatsune Miku skin to the first-ever Fortnite x Harry Potter collaboration. Beginning with Hatsune Miku, a winter-themed version of the Icon Series member.
This leak originated from Blortzen, who posted an unfinished hair model of Winter Hatsune Miku's LEGO version. We don't have a complete view of the design, but the post above gives you an idea.
There's also the Harry Potter collaboration, which leaked sometime ago, but leakers have officially linked it to Fortnite Winterfest 2025. The specifications of this crossover are unclear beyond skins and a broom Mythic, as confirmed by HYPEX.
However, it's safe to assume we should see a Harry Potter skin and perhaps more generic skins themed to the four houses found in-universe: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw. While that's merely conjecture, we expect to hear more about this and Winterfest as a whole soon.
