Fortnite meets Mortal Kombat in the coolest way possible!
Fortnite is set to launch a Mortal Kombat-centric update on April 1, and no, that’s not a joke. The patch will add a Scorpion boss, the Mythic Scorpion's Kombat Kit, and more importantly, famous Mortal Kombat stages like The Pit as Fortnite drop spots.
While it wasn't clear what more the Fortnite x Mortal Kombat collaboration would entail after Sub-Zero, you can visit some iconic MK stages in-game. Here's what you can expect.
The Pit, Living Forest, and Dead Pool are coming to Fortnite
Three of the most important battlegrounds in Mortal Kombat history will become points of interest (POIs) on April 1. Epic Games confirmed this in a blog post and trailer following the release of the latest Klassic Kombat Item Shop Bundle.

When patch v34.21 goes live on April Fools' Day, you can visit Fortnite's versions of The Pit, Living Forest, and Dead Pool in-game. One of these locations will contain the Scorpion boss character, whom you can battle to receive his Kombat Kit weapon.
While we don't know where the spots will appear on the map, those details should emerge over the next few days.

What is the story of these Mortal Kombat stages?
Any Mortal Kombat fan will tell you that The Pit, Living Forest, and Dead Pool are among the most iconic stages in the game's thirty-plus-year history. Several iterations of each have appeared across the series, but The Pit debuted in the first game.

The bridge seen in the picture is where the two combatants would fight, and the victor could even send the loser into a pit of spikes with a powerful uppercut. This would result in the iconic Pit Fatality, but that may not make it into Fortnite.

Mortal Kombat's Living Forest and Dead Pool are legendary in their own right. The former features many humanoid trees in an eerie setting, while the Dead Pool pits two characters against each other with a pool of acid beneath them.
Fortnite's addition of these stages is the perfect way to celebrate this collaboration. Be sure to check it out when it goes live on Tuesday, April 1!
