It's not an April Fools' joke, Fortnite is collaborating with the Phineas and Ferb show, but the titular characters didn't make the cut.

Fortnite has added many Disney characters as skins, and will soon add two more when Perry the Platypus and Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb join the game. According to reports, this collaboration will arrive in the Item Shop on Saturday, April 4, at 8 p.m. EDT. Perhaps the most interesting aspect is Epic Games’ approach to Perry, who is much more muscular than in the show.

Perry the Platypus and Dr. Doofenshmirtz come to Fortnite

It should come as no surprise to see more niche Disney properties finding their way into Fortnite. Phineas and Ferb have been a household name on the Disney Channel network since 2007. Despite it going off the air in 2017, Disney revived the series for a fifth season in 2025, bringing the show back into the mainstream.

One would expect Phineas and Ferb to be the two characters to lead the Fortnite collaboration, but that’s not the case. Instead, the pair’s trusty pet, Perry the Platypus, and the antagonist, Dr. Doofenshmirtz, will lead the charge. The design approach for Perry draws inspiration from Peter Griffin’s skin, who arrived muscular rather than portly.

Perry is what some would call a “unit,” as you can see in the teaser trailer released by Epic Games. Another confirmed cosmetic is dual-wielded Pickaxes based on the Perry the Inaction Figure. This is a reference to the season one episode “Toy to the World.”

It’s unclear what else the collection will include, but we expect a few additional cosmetics in addition to the Perry and Dr. Doofenshmirtz skins when they arrive on April 4.

Players and fans react to the Phineas and Ferb Fortnite collab

Given the timing of the announcement, fans on the Phineas and Ferb subreddit expressed doubt about it being real. However, the trailer and leaked images are accurate. There were many questions regarding Perry’s appearance as a buff platypus rather than his usual stature.

Others on the subreddit were not surprised, with some pointing out that even Italian brainrot memes have found their way into Fortnite. Phineas and Ferb is just another drop in the pot as Fortnite continues collaborating with anything and everything.

The community on the FortniteBR subreddit echoed similar sentiments; some didn’t believe it was real, while others felt that a Phineas and Ferb crossover should include the titular characters.

Overall, the collab has drawn some criticism, especially with Perry’s design. It’s clearly a design choice to scale the character up to Fortnite’s standards. Either way, it will be interesting to see what else Epic Games has in store when this crossover arrives on April 4.
