Fortnite: All confirmed Overwatch characters coming next season

Fortnite and Overwatch have come together for a collaboration for the ages, as four characters from the beloved hero shooter will join Fortnite next season. There was much debate about which of Overwatch's many characters would join. A recent leak has confirmed all four identities.

Although the exact release date is unknown, here is everything you need to know about the upcoming Fortnite x Overwatch collaboration.

A report from well-known and reliable Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR has confirmed that Tracer, D.Va, Mercy, and Genji will all become playable characters. Many would argue that these four have become the faces of Overwatch over time, especially Tracer and D.Va.

It's worth noting that ShiinaBR did not disclose a specific release date, but previous reports have indicated the Fortnite x Overwatch crossover will occur in Chapter 7 Season 2. For reference, the game is currently in Chapter 7 Season 1, and Epic Games recently extended the season.

Another unknown is whether some or all of these characters will appear in the Season 2 Battle Pass. This seems like the perfect opportunity to include Overwatch in the seasonal pass alongside other game items.

That covers the bulk of what we know so far. However, Epic Games and Fortnite always have something up their sleeves. In addition to the skins, it's safe to assume popular weapons and other cosmetics found in Overwatch will appear in Fortnite as part of this partnership.

It's possible that Epic could include Tracer's Pulse Pistols, Rewind, or Pulse Bomb as Mythic weapons and abilities. Ultimately, we'll have to wait and see what else comes to light about this collab as Chapter 7 Season 1 winds down.
