Get ready for Fortnite OG Season 2!
Fortnite's permanent OG game mode is here to stay, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. Players can now switch between the most recent Fortnite season or step back to when the game was on the rise. However, Fortnite OG Chapter 1 Season 1 will end soon, with Season 2 next in line. Here is a countdown to Fortnite OG Season 2 and what you can expect when it arrives in just a few weeks.
When does Fortnite OG Season 2 start?
Fortnite OG Season 2 begins in
Epic Games has confirmed that the Chapter 1 Season 1 version of Fortnite OG will conclude on Friday, Jan. 31 at 2 a.m. ET. Since Season 1 began on Dec. 6, meaning it will have lasted 56 days when it ends. As a result, we can expect a similar schedule when each new OG Season drops.
Although the precise release time of Season 2 is unclear, we anticipate it to launch on Jan. 31 at around 9 a.m. ET. This estimate aligns with the timing of Fortnite's usual updates, but we will report back with a more accurate launch time when that information is available.

What to expect in the next OG Season
Fortnite OG Season 2 should offer a similar experience to Season 1, apart from significant loot pool and map changes. For example, points of interest (POIs) such as Tilted Towers and Haunted Hills debuted in Season 2, meaning these two drop spots and a few others will appear in the next season.
Some weapons and items of note that first landed in Chapter 1 Season 2 include the Silenced Pistol, Boogie Bomb, Cozy Campfire, Chug Jug, Minigun, and more. While that covers some of what to expect from a map and items standpoint, there will also be some new takes on old Battle Pass cosmetics.
Like Fortnite OG Season 1, which featured reimagined versions of the Renegade Raider, Aerial Assault Trooper, and Skull Trooper, Season 2 also had some all-timers. The Royale Knight, Blue Squire, Sparkle Specialist, and the beloved Black Knight are a few of note.
Ultimately, we must wait and see what Epic has in store when the next OG Season drops on Jan. 31.
