‘March Through Time’ takes Fortnite players back through time to experience the ‘I have a Dream’ speech and other iconic locations of the time.

EPIC Games has partnered with TIME Studios to celebrate the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The Fortnite developer does this via a new interactive experience in the battle royale game.

The experience recreates Washington D.C. locations where Dr. Martin Luther King gave the iconic ‘I have a Dream’ speech 58 years ago on August 28, 1963. March Through Time allows players to explore virtual museums, check out Dr. King’s work and listen to his speeches.

What is Fortnite March Through Time?

March Through Time teleports players to 1963, but to a reimagined Washington D.C. They can visit famous landmarks where Dr. Martin Luther King gave his iconic speeches. The experience is built in Fortnite Creative Mode by ChaseJackman, GQuanoe, XWDFr, and YU7A in collaboration with TIME magazine.

The DC=63 spray reward for players who complete the March Through Time objectives.

Players also get to complete specific challenges to earn a unique reward. Everyone who completes the list of challenges will receive the D.C. 63 spray.

The ongoing struggle for Civil Rights as a global movement has benefitted from the collective efforts of millions of people around the world.

This initiative is a great step forward by Epic Games to tackle some serious real life issues. Civil Rights are still under attack in many parts of the world and initiatives such as these will serve to educate people. The game developer encourages people to share their stories on social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram or TikTok. Players should use the #FNDC63 hashtag to interact with other people with similarly inspiring tales.

With museum-inspired POIs and mini-game quests, the March Through Time event is a fun, interactive experience for Fortnite players. Players who wish to educate themselves on the history of Civil Rights can go to TIME’s The March website.

The in-game March Through Time experience brings something new and informative to Fortnite players.
