You can now buy Fortnite skins whenever and wherever you’d like.

Fortnite has launched a new platform allowing players to purchase skins and other in-game items anywhere and anytime. Previously, the conundrum of purchasing cosmetics away from your desired platform contributed to the fear of missing out (FOMO). Those issues no longer remain following the launch of the Fortnite Webshop. You can now purchase items online and have them waiting for the next time you launch your game. Here is how this platform works.

What is the Fortnite Webshop?

The Fortnite Webshop is a new method of purchasing in-game items, such as Outfits, Pickaxes, Gliders, and more, without having to load into the game. It functions identically to the in-game Item Shop, allowing you to browse through the various cosmetics available during each rotation. You can navigate to the Fortnite Webshop using this link, which takes you directly to the website.

Once there, you can search through the various items. You can also log in to your Epic Games account to view your V-Bucks balance and process purchases. There is even a spot to input a Support-A-Creator (SAC) code in the Fortnite Webshop, just like the in-game Item Shop user interface.

Why did Epic Games launch this platform now?

It's surprising that Epic Games took this long to release an option like this for players. Previously, you would either need to access the game from a mobile device or risk missing out on an item you wanted in your collection. The Fortnite Webshop will undoubtedly increase revenue since there are no restrictions. Players can now log into this website and grab the cosmetics they want without having to wait.

Another notable addition to the Webshop is that you can now see how long a specific item will remain in the Item Shop before rotating out. This will help you decide whether to buy the item now or later.
