Its time to play Among Us in Fortnite, somewhat. Fortnite Impostors is a new game mode as part of 17.40 gameplay update.
Epic Games has introduced a new mode to Fortnite. Fortnite Impostors reminds us of Among Us, but in a Fortnite-like theme. Here’s all we know of the new game mode in Fortnite.
How to play Fortnite: Impostors?
There are two teams in Fortnite Impostors. Similar to Among Us, one team with eight agents has to safeguard the Imagined Order (IO) headquarters by completing various tasks. The other team comprises the remaining two players, called Impostors. Their goal is to eliminate all Agents to win the game.
When Agents discover an eliminated teammate, they can call a meeting to discuss. After discussions, which are undoubtedly the most exciting part of the game, players can choose to vote someone off.
Agents’ assignments are significantly different from Among Us. The assignments are customized towards Fortnite and include ones such as:
- Calibrating chests and llamas.
- Repairing the Battle Bus.
- Delivering Storm reports for analysis.
Impostors also have to complete a few tasks to gain the Agents’ trust. Completing these tasks only helps Agents inch closer to completing their list of tasks. So Impostors need to be careful of not completing too many tasks quickly as that would mean batting for the opposite team.
Here are some of the tasks for Impostors in the new mode:
- Disable Assignments - Temporarily freeze progress on all Assignments, buying you precious time.
- Teleport Players - Relocate all Agents and Impostors to somewhere else on The Bridge, covering your tracks.
- Peely Party - For a short time, all Agents and Impostors look like Peely so you can blend in with the crowd!

Agents can call for a discussion on finding an eliminated agent. Another way to call for a discussion is by interacting with the Discussion panel in the Bridge’s Center Room.
