Epic Games has recently confirmed the rumored Fortnite x Harry Potter collab that surfaced a few weeks ago. All indications are that it will be part of the game's annual Winterfest event. Additionally, Epic Games is using this crossover to promote the free, limited-time availability of Hogwarts Legacy through the Epic Store.
While the details aren't picture-perfect yet, the developers have begun promoting a free Harry Potter-themed Back Bling and have provided a first look at the skins. This article outlines everything we know.
First look at the Harry Potter collab skins in Fortnite
It's worth saying right off the bat that the character depicted in the released image is not Harry Potter. In fact, it seems a skin utilizing Harry Potter's look is not currently planned for this initial crossover. Instead, players can purchase Outfits similar to the one below.
According to a statement released alongside this image, Fortnite will introduce Harry Potter skins themed to all four Hogwarts houses: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff. It's safe to assume there will be a mixture of male and female character models wearing the iconic robes.
Epic Games did not provide a specific release date; the statement specified "later in December." There will also be a Rocket League crossover around the same time.
How to get the Chocolate Frog Back Bling for free
Anyone looking to access the Harry Potter Fortnite collab early can do so with the Chocolate Frog Back Bling. This item references both the books and several of the movies, specifically a scene on the Hogwarts Express where Harry and Ron first meet.
You can unlock this Back Bling by downloading Hogwarts Legacy for free via the Epic Games Store. Then, you must play for at least two hours. Once you have done that, it's unclear whether you will receive the reward instantly or at a later date. Either way, this is our first look at the Harry Potter partnership.
