Game of Thrones arrives in Fortnite on March 20 per the latest leaks. Here's what characters to expect and more!
The previously leaked collaboration between Fortnite and Game of Thrones officially has a release date and a lineup of confirmed characters. Leaker iFireMonkey uncovered confirmation that three of the series’ most recognizable faces will join the game on Friday, March 20, one day after the launch of Chapter 7 Season 2.
This is just one of the many collabs Epic Games has planned in Season 2. Here is everything you need to know about Game of Thrones entering Fortnite.
Fortnite confirms the Game of Thrones collaboration

Not long after publishing this article, Epic Games dropped a “Winter is coming” teaser, confirming the Game of Thrones crossover. Soon after, the game’s leakers flooded social media with the decrypted Jon Snow and Night King skins, along with their cosmetics.
Unfortunately, the Daenerys Targaryen cosmetics remain encrypted, so we’ll have to wait and see. Epic Games also announced tournaments where players can earn the Jon Snow and Night King skins for free and some other prizes.
Game of Thrones Fortnite collab release date and characters

As mentioned, iFireMonkey’s post has confirmed that the Game of Thrones Fortnite collaboration will launch in-game on Friday, March 20, at 8 p.m. ET. The characters named in the partnership include Daenerys Targaryen, Jon Snow, and the Night King. Some would argue these are the three faces to include in the game.
Unfortunately, the intel did not provide a sneak peek of the skins, nor have the assets been decrypted. As a result, we’ll have to wait and see what the developers have put together for a crossover of this magnitude.
Here’s a breakdown of the items included, although the pricing is unknown at this time:
- Jon Snow Outfit with reactivity over time
- Jon Snow Back Bling
- Jon Snow Pickaxe
- Daenerys Targaryen Outfit with two styles
- Daenerys Targaryen Back Bling
- Daenerys Targaryen Pickaxe
- Night King Outfit
- Nigh King Back Bling
- Night King Pickaxe
- One unknown Glider
- Two unknown Emotes
- Ice and Fire Bundle (includes everything above)
It’s worth theorizing the possible Emotes and Glider, but the Glider should be a dragon because anything else would be an injustice to the series. For the Emotes, anything is possible, given the many iconic moments across the Game of Thrones series. However, a ‘Shame’ Emote based on that scene from Season 5 would be an interesting addition.
This collaboration previously leaked via AdiraFNInfo, who Epic Games recently uncovered and is pursuing legal action against. It was in question whether the leaks could damage Fortnite x Game of Thrones, but it evidently was not an issue.
How players are reacting to this collaboration
When sifting through the many comments lambasting Epic Games for raising the cost of V-Bucks, most fans are eager to see what this collaboration looks like. Some questioned the addition of the Night King, considering this season’s primary antagonist is the Ice King. Although it’s redundant, the Night King was arguably the most notable antagonist in the series, regardless of how that story arc ended.
Other commenters on the Fortnite Leaks subreddit expressed interest in the Game of Thrones collab, but won’t purchase it because of its high price. Either way, it will be interesting to see if Fortnite gained approval to use the likeness of Emilia Clarke, Kit Harrington, and one of the two actors who portrayed the Night King.
It’s a great concept, but it all comes down to the delivery and pricing that will determine whether fans part ways with their precious V-Bucks.
