The Fortnite Fracture event began with players spawning onto a floating island with not much but a countdown to a TV screen. A cinematic showing the Chapter 3 Island started as the countdown reached zero. In the cut scene, The Herald approached a collection of "Loopers" attempting to take her out. The Loopers fired multiple rockets at The Herald, who seemingly perished.

However, The Herald instead grew in size and delivered a powerful blow to the Loopers, ultimately shattering the Chapter 3 Island. Your character then appeared in space as The Paradigm is heard, requesting a status report. A character named Amie informed The Paradigm that everything is offline. In response to Amie saying we are far from home, The Paradigm says, “Home is gone.”

The Zero Point then transported players to an area with multiple Islands. Each player received tasks to collect Zero fragments, ultimately moving the event forward. These tasks included collecting pieces around, throwing snowballs at other players, transporting chickens to a chicken coop, and much more.

While players completed their quests, they could trigger flashbacks to Chapter 1, including the cube and rocket launch events.

Once the Zero Point regained its energy, a cutscene began, showing The Paradigm floating in a snow atmosphere. The Zero Point pulls her into a dimension with several broken pieces of land starting to converge. Also, The Incredible Hulk, Mr. Beast, Geralt from The Witcher, and the Doom Slayer could be spotted floating through the air.
