Fortnite’s Death Star Sabotage live event is almost here. This article outlines everything you need to know!
Fortnite's current Star Wars-themed Galactic Battle season concludes in just a few weeks, but not before a cinematic event to bring players into Chapter 6 Season 3. Epic Games has officially confirmed details regarding the "Death Star Sabotage," which could see all attendees become Luke for a day to blow up the Imperial space station.
The developers rarely fail to deliver an immersive event experience, and this one could provide a similar setup to the Chapter 2 Season 4 Galactus battle. With all that said, this article will cover what we expect to see when the event goes live on June 7.
When is the Death Star Sabotage Fortnite event?
Fortnite x Star Wars live event begins in
The season-ending live event will occur on Saturday, June 7, at 2 p.m. ET. Per usual, it's always wise to load into Fortnite between 30 minutes and one hour before. That will secure your spot in the event without worrying about queues filling up or lengthy loading times.
While the event itself is relatively mysterious, leaked key art depicts a Fishstick character piloting a TIE fighter as it flies toward the Death Star. This could indicate that Fortnite players may need to turn off their targeting computer and use the force to destroy the giant space station.
You can have up to four players in your party, where you will "Jump in and pilot an X-wing or Imperial TIE fighter while you get ready for the event to begin," according to Epic Games' blog post.
Regional Start Times for the Live Event
- Eastern Daylight Time - 2 p.m.
- Central Daylight Time - 1 p.m.
- Pacific Daylight Time - 11 a.m.
- British Summer Time - 7 p.m.
- Brasilia Standard Time - 3 p.m.
- Australian Eastern Standard Time - 4 a.m. (on May 29)
- Japan Standard Time - 3 a.m. (on May 29)
Grab yourself some free Star Wars-themed rewards just by logging into Fortnite
To celebrate the next cinematic Fortnite event, Epic Games will give out free Star Wars-themed rewards to players who log in between June 3 and June 10. Those who merely load into the lobby will receive the Loading Screen and Pickaxe depicted in the above image.

What will happen when the event concludes?
Fortnite Galactic Battle V: Death Star Sabotage signifies the end of the game's inaugural mini-season. It's unclear whether the next season will be Chapter 6 Season 3 or Season 4, but most likely the former. Some details about the season have already surfaced.
Leaker ShiinaBR and others have reported that Chapter 6 MS1 will end immediately following the event. The next season commences on the same day once the downtime concludes. Rumors in the scene have attached a superhero theme to the next season.
Players react and theorize about the upcoming live event
Galactic Battle has been admittedly one of the more poorly-received Fortnite seasons. Some players are eager to see it end, but others have begun discussing what the Death Star event could entail. Reddit user Cthepo theorized that all players in the event will chip away at the space station from Star Destroyers.
X user hartmann10803 discovered a quote stating that players will board the Death Star and fight Emperor Palpatine. That could mean players will begin outside firing upon the station before entering and battling Palpatine before the Death Star explodes.
We will have the answers to all of these questions on June 7, when the event goes live. However, one thing is sure: it will be a cinematic experience.
