Craft Fishing Rods for some LEGO Fortnite fun!
LEGO Fortnite has cooled off since its roaring start in December 2023. Over the last few updates, Epic Games has slowly expanded the product, adding new skins and items to the game. Today, Fortnite's official social media channels have announced that fishing is officially coming to LEGO Fortnite in update v28.30. This mechanic echoes what Battle Royale players see in standard matches, and we are here to explain it from top to bottom.
How does fishing work in LEGO Fortnite?
Once the latest Fortnite update goes live on February 22, the fishing mechanic will be available in LEGO Fortnite. However, there are a few things to consider before embarking on your quest to become a bass master. First and foremost, fishing in LEGO Fortnite requires you to craft a Fishing Rod.
There are three Fishing Rod types available in the game, and you can find the complete list of rarities and recipes below:
- Common Fishing Rod (craftable at a Level 1 Crafting Bench)
- Unlock the recipe for the Common Fishing Rod by adding a Cord to your inventory.
- Uncommon Fishing Rod (craftable at a Level 2 Crafting Bench)
- Unlock the recipe for the Uncommon Fishing Rod by adding a Knotroot Rod to your inventory.
- Rare Fishing Rod (craftable at a Level 3 Crafting Bench)
- Unlock the recipe for the Rare Fishing Rod by adding a Flexwood Rod to your inventory.
- Epic Fishing Rod (craftable at a Level 4 Crafting Bench)
- Unlock the recipe for the Epic Fishing Rod by adding a Frostpine Rod to your inventory.
Each Fishing Rod rarity offers different possibilities, including a sturdier build and the ability to catch higher-rarity fish. Speaking of fish, let's get to the complete list of fish you can catch in LEGO Fortnite.
What fish can I catch in the LEGO game mode?
Fifteen fish species are available to catch in LEGO Fortnite, ranging from the classic orange Flopper from Battle Royale mode to something called a Molten Spicy Fish. Each species offers different perks, including a boost to your HP, but you can also use the new Food Processor item to craft more intricate seafood dishes.
Here is every fish you can find in LEGO Fortnite. It's worth noting that certain fish are only catchable in specific biomes, so you may want to explore to find them all:
