Fortnite’s new feature, that was set to release next month, which allows developers to put Item Shop items in their UEFN map, has had its delay released.
A few months ago, Epic Games dropped a bombshell, announcing a feature that would allow UEFN maps to sell items from the Item Shop, giving the creators a portion of the revenue created. This was an exciting announcement, as it is an easy form of cash to make. However, Epic Games just announced that they are pushing back when the feature will be released.
Here is what we know.
UEFN maps selling items from the Item Shop feature delayed
Epic Games is known for pushing off features they announce, whether it's new Fortnite skins to features such as UEFN maps selling items directly from the Item Shop. However, this is not necessarily a bad thing, as it means the company is taking time to perfect the feature, ensuring there are no bugs.

No one likes it when a game releases a feature that is incredibly glitchy and barely works.
However, it does still hurt to see such a cool feature get pushed back, as many have been anticipating being able to begin selling Fortnite cosmetics from the Item Shop in their maps. The feature was originally set to drop at some point in December, but is now being pushed.
So, when will the new feature, which will allow creators to sell cosmetics from the Item Shop in their maps, be released?
Release
At the moment, Epic Games has officially pushed back the release of the new UEFN feature to January 9, 2026, as it was originally set to release in December. While this delay is not too bad, we could potentially see if it gets pushed back further with the Holidays coming around, meaning many Epic employees may not be working for a few weeks.

The original description on Epic Games' website said "In December, developers will be able to..." but has now been switched to "On January 9."
While many are disappointed, the game's new feature is not too far away, so be prepared to set up the Item Shop in your UEFN map once the feature drops at the start of the New Year.
