Fortnite FNCS 2024 roadmap revealed with $7.675 million prize pool

The wait for an official Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) roadmap in 2024 is over. On the heels of Fortnite Chapter 5’s successful launch, competitors have been eager to see what Epic Games has in store for the year ahead. Today, the Fortnite Competitive team announced another year of Major tournaments under the Duos format, with more than $7 million up for grabs and another in-person Global Championship to round out the year, though a date and venue for the LAN is TBD.

The Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) in 2024 features three Majors, similar to 2023. However, unlike last year, there will be no Last Chance Major. That means Duos only have the three Majors to punch their ticket to the FNCS Global Championship 2024.

To participate in FNCS Majors 1, 2, and 3, you and your teammate must reach Platinum I in Ranked Battle Royale. Once you have reached Platinum I, you may queue into the Open Qualifiers to start your FNCS journey.

Below is a complete FNCS 2024 Major format breakdown from the Open Qualifiers through the Grand Finals.

Open Qualifiers

• Three-hour session
• Ten-match limit
• Four rounds of competition (NAC and EU) / Three rounds of competition (all other regions)
• Duos will earn points based on eliminations, placement, and mid-match objectives.
• The top 2,000 teams (NAC/EU) and 1,000 (all other regions) advance to round two.
• The top 1,000 teams (NAC/EU) and 250 (all other regions) advance to round three.
• The top 250 teams (NAC/EU only) advance to round 4.
• Based on the Series Points leaderboard, the top Duos will advance to the Upper or Lower Semi-Finals.

Semi-Finals (Upper)

Round 1

• Teams that finish between 1st and 50th on the Series Points leaderboard will qualify for the Upper Semi-Finals, which includes five set-lobby matches.
• It occurs across three days.
• Each game-winning Duo (five total) will advance to that Major’s Grand Finals.
• Teams that finish between 6th and 25th after five matches will advance to the Upper Semis Round 2.
• Teams that Finish between 25th and 50th will drop to the Lower Semi-Finals.

Round 2

• Five set-lobby matches.
• Each game-winning Duo (five total) will advance to that Major’s Grand Finals.
• Teams that finish between 6th and 25th will advance to the Upper Semis Round 3.
• Teams that finish between 26th and 50th will drop to Lower Semis Round 3.

Round 3

• Three set-lobby matches.
• Teams that finish between 1st and 25th will advance to that Major’s Grand Finals.

FNCS 2024 Semi-Finals (Lower)

Round 1

• Teams that finish between 51st and 250th on the Series Points leaderboard will qualify for the Lower Semi-Finals, which includes ten open-lobby matches.
• It occurs across three days.
• Duos that finish between 1st and 30th will advance to the Upper Semis Round 2.
• Duos that finish between 31st and 205th will advance to the Lower Semis Round 2.
• Those who finish below 205th will be eliminated from the competition.

Round 2

• Ten open-lobby matches.
• Duos that finish between 1st and 30th will advance to Upper Semis Round 3.
• Duos that finish below 30th will be eliminated from the competition.

Round 3

• Three set-lobby matches.
• Teams that finish between 1st and 15th will advance to that Major’s Grand Finals.
• All teams below 15th will be eliminated from the competition.

Grand Finals

• The top 50 Duos from each region’s Semi-Finals will advance to the Grand Finals
• Two days of competition.
• Six games per day.
• Eliminations are worth 1.5x points on day two.
• The top-placing Duos based on cumulative points will qualify for the FNCS Global Championship 2024
