A physical copy of Fortnite sold for $42k

Yes, you read that headline correctly. Just the other day, a physical copy of Fortnite, which was given a perfect grade of A++, sold for quite a ludicrous amount of money. This takes the cake as the most money a physical copy of Fortnite has ever been sold for, setting a crazy record for anyone to try to top.

It is no secret that graded material can make you a lot of money, especially if it receives a perfect grade. From Pokémon to comics to other trading cards and more, people have been grading items and reselling them for crazy amounts of money for years now.

In fact, back in 2021, a famous Pokémon card, the 1998 Pikachu Illustrator card, which was incredibly rare, sold for $5.275 million after getting a PSA 10.

Well, it would seem as if grading items and selling them was not exclusive to comics and trading cards, as a perfect physical copy of Fortnite has been graded at an A++, making it the highest grade ever for the game, and sold for $42,500 at an auction.

This is an absolutely insane amount of money to throw down for Fortnite, but to each their own.

Back in 2017, Fortnite released its first physical copy, which was the original Save the World game mode and not the Battle Royale. Ever heard of Save the World? Well, before was a Battle Royale, the game was about fighting zombies and building bases against them.

Then, in September of 2017, the free-to-play Battle Royale dropped, which changed the world.

While Save the World never really took off, it would seem that there is still some crazy popularity behind it, as one of its physical versions just sold for all that money.

Still, in 2018, Fortnite also sold another physical version called Fortnite: Deep Freeze Bundle, which featured the Battle Royale and a few in-game items that were only available with purchasing the physical copy.
