A new character joins GBVSR. Vikala may be sweet, but she’s more than capable of holding her own in a fight.

One of 12 Divine Generals joins the roster of this anime fighting game. Despite her childish look, Vikala carries a lot of responsibility. Her main mission is to make the world a better place — help people dream and support their best hopes. But on the other hand, Vikala wants to hide from everyone. These are two opposites side of the character from the original game Granblue Fantasy. In Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising (GBVSR), we can focus on her fighting abilities. Everything about Vikala in GBVSR is here: her gameplay, release date, and how to unlock her.

When does Vikala join Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising?

The release date for Vikala in GBVSR is October 25, 2024. The character is part of the Version 1.60 update. Alongside it, the game starts a new season of its Battle Pass — with a Halloween costume for Vikala as one of the rewards.

Having cosmetic items as part of Battle Pass rewards has become normal in modern fighting games. For instance, a new season started recently in TEKKEN 8 update 1.08.

Vikala gameplay

We can partly see Vikala's fighting abilities in her official gameplay trailer. In general, Vikala looks like a ranged character with a variety of projectiles to keep opponents at a distance. She effectively sets traps to avoid unexpected close-range combat. Some of the tools help Vikala approach her victims safely to start neutral pressure and combos.

Randomness of projectiles makes Vikala somewhat similar to Asuka from Guilty Gear Strive. The girl’s cheerful personality reminds us of May. More details should be revealed with a traditional character guide. When it’s live, we will add the video to this section.

GBVS Rising Vikala moves

Some of Vikala's moves are highlighted below.

  • Dream Come True: Unique Action — This is a random projectile that reaches really far.

  • Rodent Rhythm: Special Move — Vikala shoots a pinwheel, and this move may help her approach opponents closer and start the offense with normals.

  • Gilded Heaven Strike: Skybound Art — Dormouse turns into a dangerous trap and attacks those poor opponents. The trap is both a crown and clapping jaws.
  • Eccentrical Parade: Super Skybound Art — This fun concert delivers a KO to your opponents.

Vikala in a match

Before Vikala is out, the developers of the game posted a match featuring her. Take a look at Vikala in action!

Vikala’s skins

In addition to the default look and the Halloween costume, Vikala in GBVSR gets a skin. Her dormouse ears turn into Rat Ears of Renunciation. They are based on the Dark Opus weapons from Granblue Fantasy, the mobile game.
