They have an interesting alliance with the Joker.

MultiVersus announced the addition of the scary slasher Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th and the notorious villain Agent Smith from The Matrix to its stacked roster via the launch trailer.

The announcement arrived one week ahead of MultiVersus' much-anticipated full launch on May 28. The free-to-play fighting game developed by Player First Games and published by Warner Bros. Games left everyone hyped after the open beta phase between July 2022 and June 2023. Now, fans know they'll have two more villains to play with.

While Jason is available at launch, Agent Smith will join the MultiVersus roster later in the first season.

What do the additions of Jason and Agent Smith mean to MultiVersus?

The launch trailer of MultiVersus gave fans the impression that the first season will focus on villains rather than heroes. The trailer began with The Joker, who is voiced by Mark Hamill, crashing a battle between Velma, Finn the Human, and Bugs Bunny.

Later on, the Joker calls Jason and Agent Smith as backup as a team led by Wonder Woman threatens to take him down. The impression that the first season of MultiVersus is all about villains comes from the tease at the end of the launch trailer, where the Joker summons four mysterious characters.

While the identity of these four characters will remain up in the air until MultiVersus launches, you can check everything about the game, including mechanics, all characters confirmed, and monetization in our guide at the end of the article.

MultiVersus is coming out for PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC altogether on May 28.
