The game is a thrill for the series fans! Quite a few iconic characters come to life to let you experience bloody fights of Invincible VS. The developers have an impressive background in the genre, so the roster perfectly covers a wide range of playstyles.
In its base version, Invincible VS features 18 characters. All of them come from the source comics and animated series.
A great power of this fighting game is that it combines the story-driven background with cleverly elaborated mechanics. Invincible has a very unusual universe: people with superpowers often face extremely harsh consequences for their actions. It’s a far cry from the polished perfection seen in some other superhero series.
The development team of Invincible VS is based on a few key people from Killer Instinct, one of the fundamental series in the fighting game community. This promises us deep gameplay: for general mechanics and for character abilities. Killer Instinct comes with a good use of gory animation, which makes a nice connection to Invincible.

Playstyle explained for Invincible VS character: Fighting archetypes
Invincible VS is a 3v3 tag-team fighting game. The basic recipe is all about fast-paced action and long combos, extended by assists.
To let players express themselves in fights, the developers put a decent range of archetypes into the Invincible VS character roster.
Invincible
He is the series’ main protagonist. Mark Grayson inherited superpowers from his dad, Omni-Man. Life has become tough for him: it punches Mark in the face, with the fists of villains, and many deeply emotional situations.
In the fighting game, Invincible leans towards the rushdown style. This reflects his lack of battle experience and the mentality of a very dedicated and open young person. Quick and effective attacks are his advantage, but some moves can be punishable. Figuring out safe options is quite important with our titular character.
Omni-Man
As one of the greatest warriors of the Viltrum Empire, Omni-Man came to the Earth with a mission. He fell in love with a woman, and they were blessed with a child, Mark Grayson. Was the mission of Omni-Man really to protect the planet? His connection to the wife and the son can affect the initial plan.
Omni-Man is absolutely brutal in the original series, and he carries the same playstyle in Invincible VS. His options are versatile and effective at all ranges. Omni-Man delivers high damage, but that may come with an extra risk: his attacks are punishable on block. This character is all about immense power!
Cecil Stedman
He is the chief of a special military department related to superheroes and supervillains. All the mighty people with mindblowing powers are under his control, except for Omni-Man, who doesn’t take orders.
Cecil has all the advanced technology at his disposal for Invincible VS fights, including guns, teleportation, and special light to blind opponents. You should use this variety of gadgets to create space for Cecil’s ranged attacks and traps to open up opponents and start damage sequences. It feels like Cecil is on the technical side of the Invincible VS roster for lab monsters.
Robot
Rudolph Connors’ physical body was unsuitable for the outer world, so this genius controlled a robotic drone to interact with others and to battle evil. At the beginning of the series, we knew him as this Robot. Then, the story got weirder with a consciousness transfer to a cloned body. Rudolph never stopped being on the good side, and he is faithful to this in Invincible VS, as Robot again.
We have another ranged fighting character with a variety of advanced weaponry. At the same time, Robot is not afraid to come closer to unleash his combo potential. You can use his mid-range options to open up, push the opponents away, use long-ranged attacks, and then tag in a heavy-hitter to continue the damage sequence.
Atom Eve
The girl has the ability to modify physical reality at a molecular level. Atom Eve creates and transforms objects — ultimately, to help people in all the possible ways. Fighting evil? She certainly is up to this!
Atom Eve is a true zoner among the Invincible VS characters. Being able to hover helps the girl keep opponents at bay. She uses an impressive variety of projectiles, covering different angles. The developers classify her as a rather difficult character, as players should be creative in the use of her options.
Dupli-Kate
The ability to clone herself at will is a key feature of Dupli-Kate. She has it from an old family curse. Duplicates appear very quickly, and Kate sacrifices them easily. As part of the superhero team in the show, Dupli-Kate brings an essential numbers advantage in fights against villains. That’s helpful for Invincible VS, too.
Dupli-Kate adds the spirit of martial arts to the game. To land hits in combo sequences, the girl creates copies of herself. The clones should be absorbed back for Dupli-Kate not to lose her health, and it’s an extra challenge for her flow of overwhelming attacks. As a character, Dupli-Kate excels at close range, and assists from teammates help her reach there safely.
Rex Splode
He is an explosive part of the Guardians of the Globe team: pretty rude and emotionally unstable, but very useful with the ability to actually explode any object.
Rex Splode comes to the Invincible VS roster with wonderful mobility and with an array of blasting projectiles. His explosive tricks are perfect for setting traps and unleashing a zoning game. Rex is very helpful for a team with his assists: to push an opponent away, to extend a combo, and more. Also, his disrespectful attitude adds an extra layer of fun to the game.
Monster Girl
Amanda can change her form, turning into a massive monster. The trick comes at a price, as Amanda gets slightly younger after each transformation. While looking like a teenage girl, she is around 26 years old in the show. Her look motivated Rudolph to choose a younger version of Rex for consciousness transfer.
Monster Girl is a grappler and a heavy-hitter. Some of her massive punches come with armor to win clashes and land an attack. Smashing opponents with the full body is very satisfying. As a wrestler among the Invincible VS characters, Monster Girl needs to come really close — assists or the tag-in mechanic should help her do this.
Bulletproof
Zandale Randolph joined Guardians of the Globe alongside the revived Immortal. His role is to bring a more mature attitude to the new version of the team. Having a literally bulletproof body is helpful, indeed. The guy got this feature after a secret experiment.
Bulletproof throws himself into close-range fights and overwhelms opponents with a flow of quick attacks. He has versatile features and excels with various mixups. Assists from other characters can accelerate this ability to open opponents up.
Battle Beast
Thokk is a mighty beast who seeks a worthy opponent across the entire universe. He easily leaves behind piles of bodies, as very few people can survive his brutal hits.
Battle Beast’s fighting style is about in-your-face aggression. The character has his signature melee weapon, so that even his normals are quite far-reaching. Super Armor is a big part of his moves, as Battle Beast just crashes through opponents’ resistance, even if he still takes damage. The drawback is low mobility and ground-bound gameplay. Having quick teammates with good aerials could be a good idea for Battle Beast.
Powerplex
Tragic events from Season 1 traumatized Scott Duball immensely, and eventually, they transformed the guy into a somewhat crazy villain, Powerplex. His only goal is to avenge his sister, who was killed in the massive Chicago incident. Scott sees Invincible as his target and refuses to acknowledge that the guy is also a victim.
As a scientist, Scott filled his body with electricity. Producing it to shock opponents is his main feature as Powerplex — he sure would prefer to do that to Invincible out of all the VS characters. In the game, Powerplex combines ground mobility, quick air attacks, and electric projectiles. His playstyle is about zoning and long combo sequences.
Ella Mental
Ella used an ancient totem to harness magical control over four primal elements. She was transformed into a superhero with breathtaking abilities. A great thing about Ella Mental is that she is a new character created specifically for the game.
During her fights, Ella Mental uses water, fire, earth, and air attacks. Players should figure out how to make this elemental magic flow seamlessly. The character is versatile with many available options. Her core focus is still on ranged attacks.
Anissa
The Viltrum Empire cannot let Mark Grayson just live his life on Earth as Invincible, as his role is to conquer the planet. Anissa came to pursue the guy to do so or force him to embrace his Viltrumite heritage.
While following the general archetype of overpowered Viltrumite fighters, Anissa is somewhat quicker than Omni-Man. She feels especially good at close range with her devastating combos. Anissa has decent tools to close the gap, and assists from other Invincible VS characters can help her and make her even more dangerous.
Lucan
As a devoted Viltrumite warrior, Lucan spreads the Empire’s glory across the universe. Naturally, he does so through overwhelming, brutal strength.
Lucan uses his big body to strengthen his grabs and throws. He is a Viltrumite grappler, which is quite scary. The character still has decent mobility, even in the air.
Thula
During her long life as a Viltrumite, Thula participated in countless missions, evolving into a ruthless assassin. She still enjoys torturing her enemies, even after many centuries of serving the Empire.
Thula utilizes her braid as a whip with a sharp blade at the tip to establish a zoning game. She has the biggest range among all the Viltrumite characters in Invincible VS. When Thula wants it, she can pull opponents a bit closer and then continue with her combos. Other types of repositioning are possible during juggling, letting Thula players be creative in their offensive pressure.
Allen the Alien
He fought Invincible after confusing Earth with Urath. Allen the Alien was in search of someone who can stop the tyranny of the Viltrum Empire. Invincible looked like a decent candidate, and even a traitor in the Coalition of Planets could not stopped Allen’s plans. Eventually, the one-eyed guy went for saving Omni-Man to strengthen his party.
Allen the Alien had a bad experience battling Viltrumites in the first part of the show. He adapted nicely after his transformation! In the game, Allen get another chance against Thula and Lucan. His playstyle is based on good mobility, mighty strikes, and dangerous grabs.
The developers describe Allen as a unique character, as his normals are different from those of other fighters in the Invincible VS roster. Allen doesn’t have projectiles, and you should use his mobility and teammates’ assists to get in and start the close-range pressure.
Titan
The guy is clever enough to trick Invincible into helping Titan in his plans — they turn out to be mainly good. Titan uses the superhero to make it to the top of a criminal organization, but his dominance brings peace and prosperity to previously disastrous neighborhoods. Then, Titan increases the stakes and fights a world-level clan to keep the situation positive around himself.
Combining such an occupation with the role of a loving dad and husband is quite a task! Titan does this pretty well.
In the fights of Invincible VS, Titan uses his armor as extra protection, and he hits the opponents hard with a variety of close-range strikes.
You can play the character in the open beta of Invincible VS from April 9 to April 11.
The basic roster of Invincible VS will be extended with DLC characters. Four of them join the game as part of the Year 1 Character Pass.
Another tag-team fighting game coming later in 2026: MARVEL Tōkon features other popular superheroes, such as Spider-Man and Captain America.
