One player is dominating the Guilty Gear Strive competition right now. This tournament brought the guy another success.

While a big AWT qualifier was happening at another fighting esports event, the American GGST players did not lose their chance to practice — and sure, to have fun. We could witness some of the best competitors participating in the Guilty Gear Strive tournament at DreamHack Dallas 2024. And no one could defeat the unstoppable legend who wins event after event.

In this post on esports.gg, you’ll find a brief recap of the DreamHack Dallas 2024 Guilty Gear Strive matches, the tournament results, and a list of characters in the top 8 part.

The GGST tournament had fewer stages than other big games at DreamHack Fighters: Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8. Still, the attendees had to make it through four pools and the top 24 brackets to reach the final part.

The top 8 recap

TempestNYC is shining super bright at the moment. We all were impressed by his performance at Evo Japan 2024 — the top-level event in the country, where Guilty Gear Strive is one of the main fighting games. And then, the player repeated his wonderful success at Combo Breaker 2024. The legend is born, and it’s interesting to follow what happens next.

Despite having no league goal after qualifying directly for the Arc World Tour 2024 Finals, TempestNYC is still participating in big tournaments. Practice is a great force in esports! In the top 8 of DreamHack Dallas 2024, he had a clear victory over Riley in the semi-final, and then confidently defeated Supernoon in the final.

It’s hard not to notice that we had three Bridgets in the top 8 part. And TempestNYC faced this character in all his matches. Riley fell to losers but then defeated three opponents, including Supernoon who also mains Bridget, to proceed to the grand final and play vs TempestNYC again.

Grand Final

Riley started strong and won game 1, effectively using the long-range attacks of Bridget’s yo-yo. Then, TempestNYC started dealing with that type of pressure better. He rushed with his Leo at the attacking distance quite well, backstepped when it was needed, and punished the opponent with damaging hits. Riley couldn’t find anything more in that match.

TempestNYC won Guilty Gear Strive DreamHack Dallas 2024. Congratulations!
