Guilty Gear Strive is pretty special in the main lineup of Evo 2024. The game is not new if compared to others, like TEKKEN 8 or Mortal Kombat 1. But it's not as old as Street Fighter III, which has a legacy tournament.
Guilty Gear Strive comes to Evo 2024 as a well-established competitive title, with a formed tradition and an elaborated gameplay balance. Following such an esports competition is super interesting! At the same time, GGST is still fresh, with Season 4 characters and gameplay adjustments coming soon.

Guilty Gear Strive has fewer starting pools than Street Fighter 6 at Evo 2024, but this number is still super impressive. More than 2,060 players have registered for the tournament. The one and only winner will be determined after five rounds.

GGST Arc World Tour Platinum
The Arc World Tour 2024 started with Evo Japan, so we have had quite a few qualifiers for Guilty Gear Strive. Not all of them are of such a high tier as Evo 2024. Platinum AWT tournaments grant top players big numbers of standing points. The winners get their direct invites to the Arc World Tour 2024 Global Finals event.
In fact, there are only four Platinum qualifiers in the Arc World Tour 2024.

- Ultimate Fighting Arena 2024: September 13-15, in France
Sure, there are also Gold qualifiers, such as the recent event The MIXUP 2024 or the soon-coming FV Major 2024 (July 27-28, in Malaysia). The participants earn league points to be in the top 10 on the global leaderboard and qualify for the Global Finals.
