SNK Corporation follows their tradition of short gaps between announcements and releases. Season 2 for FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves (CotW) is right around the corner!
Not only is the wait for the first character short, but the following additions to the roster also arrive next month. FATAL FURY wants to keep the excitement on the top level with its Season 2 release. Two mysterious challengers add some intrigue as well.
Season 2 characters in FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves
The official announcement reveals four names in Season 2. All of them come from previous FATAL FURY games.
- Kim Jae Hoon: A Taekwondo fighter and the younger brother of Kim Dong Hwan. He follows the rushdown archetype, using the fire magic to add extra damage.
- Nightmare Geese: A resurrected version of the main antagonist, Geese Howard. He is known as a boss, and his overpowered moves should be a real threat.
- Blue Mary: A private detective in South City who uses the brutal Commando Sambo for her fights. Blue Mary is a hybrid of grappler and rushdown. This character is also present in The King of Fighters XV.
- Wolfgang Krauser: A mighty villain who considers battles artistic symphonies. He is a younger half-brother of Geese Howard. Wolfgang combines fighting traditions of German wrestling and ancient Greek combat. His hits are extremely strong and deal massive damage.
Release dates: Monthly character drops
No other game does such a marathon of DLC releases. FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves receives a new character each month starting from January. According to this plan, SNK is going to complete Season 2 in June. The release date for the final addition seems to be scheduled precisely for Evo 2026.
- Kim Jae Hoon joins the game on Jan. 22. He is the first DLC character of FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves Season 2.
The developers bring a balance update specifically for Season 2: FATAL FURY Patch 1.7.2. The announced goal is to make fights "more strategic and competitive."
Who are the mysterious challengers in FATAL FURY Season 2?
Two characters were shown in the Season 2 trailer as mysterious wolves. FATAL FURY keeps their identity a secret, but SNK also openly hints at the collaboration with Fist of the North Star. According to the community’s assumption, one of these characters can be Kenshiro from that manga and anime series.
How to unlock FATAL FURY CotW Season 2
All these new characters are part of Season Pass 2 in FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves.
Season Pass 1 was available in the bundle with the base game — as the only available Special Edition.
Alongside the next content season, FATAL FURY CotW should start the next official esports circle: SNK World Championship. Laggia won the Finals event in 2025.
The game will be present at Frosty Faustings XVIII from Jan. 29 to Feb. 1.
