It’s the biggest Brawlhalla esports event of the year. The World Championship has two divisions: 1v1 and 2v2 matches.

Brawlhalla esports has been around for nine years! Can you believe it? Traditionally, a big community gathering concludes another competitive (and content) season for this platformer fighting game.

BCX 2024, or Brawlhalla Championship Expo, is an event where the new World Champion will be crowned. Is it be another title for a previous winner or a totally new name on the international Brawlhalla esports scene?

All the details about the Brawlhalla World Championship 2024 are here. Watch the stream, earn rewards, check out the results, and peek into the history: the best players over the years and what happened within Brawlhalla in 2024.

Win Brawlhalla esports all-Legends color scheme

In addition to the rewards from the BCX stream, you can participate in the timed event mission and earn free Brawlhalla esports colors. The game invites players to participate in online matchmaking and win the all-Legends color scheme in Brawlhalla.

There are 5 versions of esports colors. Usually, they are available only via the viewership rewards program: during the official tournaments, such as the most recent online Brawlhalla Trial of Freya. For the limited time, the classic esports v.2 all-legends color scheme is available via a special mission inside the game.

How to get esports colors Brawlhalla

To celebrate the World Championship, the game developers started a timed-limited event with Brawlhalla esports v.2 colors as free rewards.

  • Play online matchmaking with different Legends.
  • Win matches and get esports v.2 color for your victorious character.
  • Win matches with all Brawlhalla Legends to collect the whole v.2 esports color scheme set.
  • Finish the missions till Dec. 4, 2024, 5 a.m. ET.

It might be better to play the Experimental matchmaking to try and win esports colors for the characters you are not familiar with. The results will not affect your Brawlhalla online rank, but the downside is that you may meet substantially stronger opponents.

Brawlhalla 9th anniversary event

Mallhalla, the Brawlhalla game shop, got quite a few items for the celebration of the game’s 9th anniversary. They are character skins, sidekicks, emotes, and more.

Not all of these items are new, though — most of them were introduced during the previous anniversaries. Here is a list of new Brawlhalla 9th anniversary cosmetics.

  • Haute Couture Ember: It comes with Bow and Katars weapon skins.
  • Phil, the sidekick: The firebird to take your character to the stage.
  • Gilded Deco 2024: It’s a 9th anniversary podium.
  • 9th cake-anniversary: The emote is based on showing a nice chocolate cake to your opponents or teammates.

All previous Brawlhalla World Champions

Brawlhalla was released for open beta in November 2015, and the developers count this as the birthday month for the game. The first World Championship took place in 2016, even before the official release, which is Oct. 17, 2017 (for PC and PlayStation 4).

Here is a list of all Brawlhalla World Champions, 1v1 and 2v2, up to 2023.

As for 2020 and 2021, there were only online regional finals due to the pandemic limitations.

Who can win the title in 2024?

A great thing about Brawlhalla esports is that new champions may emerge unexpectedly and ruin all the predictions.

  • In 2022, Impala celebrated his World Championship victory. Hardly anyone foreseen him to reach that level back then.
  • In 2023, yüz won the title and started the current era of South American domination.

This year, Brawlhalla players from South America are very strong. Kyna won Spring Royale 2024 and Midseason Championship 2024: two out of three international events so far.

Sandstorm had a few successful events, but he won only NA tournaments, such as the Trial of Skuld. Raydish finished 1st in two Trials, so he also has a good chance at BCX 2024.

Marckiemoo is a fresh name in the top-level Brawlhalla esports. The player had good results in the online Trials. And to cement the status of a successful breakthrough, Marckiemoo won the Autumn Royale 2024.

While Godly is amazingly powerful in the EU region, he somewhat struggles during the international tournaments. The player still is always a threat. The most recent Trial demonstrated the rise of young European competitors: bamya and Ra1n finished in the top 2.

Looking back at the Brawlhalla Esports Year Nine

The competitive scene of Brawlhalla changed a lot this year. A new format was introduced: with mainly online tournaments in the yearly schedule.

The pro players got their prize money cut significantly — there were no big announcements about $1M+ in the prize pool. The esports community survived and adapted. Now, people are looking forward to the Year Ten announcements.

For the content department, Brawlhalla got a few new Legends and a few collaboration events (since BCX 2023).

New Legends
Crossovers
SevenSpongeBob SquarePants (SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy)
ViviStar Wars (Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader, and Darth Maul)
ImugiBorderlands (Lilith, Tiny Tina, and Krieg)

The Esports Year Ten should bring even more competitive tournaments, characters, and epic crossover skins. For all Brawlhalla news and updates, stick around on esports.gg!
