The Sidemen’s XIX Vodka will be the official vodka of the Esports Awards 2023 as esports gains another hard liquor sponsor.
The Esports Awards 2023 may well be a more boozy affair than usual as it announces XIX Vodka as the official vodka sponsor of the award show. The news was revealed by release on Nov. 8.
XIX Vodka is a spirit brand launched by The Sidemen. The vodka is marketed as a premium offering, although it retails for around £35 ($42) placing it firmly in the middle of the subsection. It received a UK-wide launch in British retail giant Tesco earlier this month.
The XIX Vodka will travel internationally to the Esports Awards 2023 at Resorts World, Las Vegas, Nevada, where it will be part of an exclusive XIV bar at the ceremony.
"We are thrilled to welcome XIX Vodka as the 'Official Vodka Sponsor' for the Esports Awards," said Mike Ashford, CEO of the Esports Awards. "Their commitment to quality and innovation perfectly aligns with our mission to honor excellence within the esports industry. We eagerly anticipate an extraordinary evening celebrating the achievements in esports and gaming."
Sidemen co-founder Vikram “Vikkstar123” Barn will be at the event, raising a toast to 10 years of The Sidemen at an afterparty hosted at nightclub Zouk.
"Being a part of the Esports Awards celebration is an incredible honor," stated Vikram "Vikkstar123" Barn, Co-Founder of The Sidemen. "I'm thrilled to engage with the passionate gaming community and contribute to this prestigious event. I can’t wait to immerse myself in the talent and excitement at this unforgettable awards ceremony!"

XIX Vodka is named so after the roman numeral for 19. The number has special meaning for The Sidemen, who were founded on Oct. 19, 2013, and XIX and the number 19 feature heavily in The Sidemen’s branding and content.
While we’ll definitely need a stiff drink if Riot Games’ properties and players manage to sweep the entire awards show like in 2022, the idea of an official vodka sponsor for the Esports Awards is slightly amusing. Still, esports has expanded its repertoire of sponsors as of late, venturing into the world of hard liquor. For the Dota 2 International 2023, Scotch Whisky maker Ballantine’s partnered with Tundra Esports, while also unveiling a pair of limited edition blended whiskeys.
With organizations far and wide struggling amidst an “esports winter,” sponsors such as the liquor industry are becoming all the more appealing.
