The 2026 Asian Games may feel like a faraway event at this point in time, but the Olympic Council of Asia has already revealed all esports titles that will be present at the competition. Check out which games players can represent their country for, here.

Esports in the 2026 Asian Games

The Olympic Council of Asia announced the full game lineup for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games through a memo dated Feb. 22, 2025. According to the official post, the final list of titles was decided after an Emergency Executive Board meeting.

The esports titles at the Aishi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games are:

  1. Competitive Martial Arts (Team Competition)
    • Street Fighter Series
    • Tekken Series
    • King of Fighters Series
  2. Pokémon Unite
  3. Honor of Kings
  4. League of Legends
  5. PUBG Mobile - Asian Games Version
  6. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang
  7. Identity V: Asian Games Version
  8. Naraka: Bladepoint
  9. Gran Turismo (7)
  10. Efootball Series
  11. Puyo Puyo Champions

This has slight changes from the initial announcement made by the Olympics a day before the memo. The previous list retained Dreams Three Kingdoms and only had Street Fighter 6 as the sole fighting game.

League of Legends and PUBG Mobile are the only titles retained from the last iteration of the competition. "We were proud to have League of Legends Esports included in the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games, and would welcome the opportunity to include LoL Esports again in [the] 2026 Asian Games," says Riot Games, developer and publisher of League of Legends.

From seven to eleven

The lineup of over 11 esports games at the 2026 Aishi-Nagoya Asian Games is a big expansion from the seven of the last Asian Games.

The Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games was the first time esports was featured as a medal event. This came after esports was featured at the demo event in the Asian Games prior, at Jakarta-Palembang 2018. The Hangzhou event featured 475 competitors from 30 nations across seven titles. Those were:

  • EA Sports FC Online
  • Street Fighter V
  • Arena of Valor
  • Dota 2
  • Dream Three Kingdoms 2
  • League of Legends
  • PUBG Mobile

Puyo Puyo Champions

Puyo Puyo Champions, released in Japan as Puyo Puyo eSports, is a competitive puzzle game developed and published by Sega for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows through Steam.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

MOONTON Games' Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is joining the lineup for the coming Asian Games. It is a 5v5 Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game and was one of the first games chosen to be the first medal event of esports at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.

MLBB's inclusion at the 2026 Asian Games reflects its status as a premier mobile esport, known for its accessibility, strategic depth, and global appeal. This historic milestone not only validates MLBB’s impact on competitive gaming; it also reinforces MLBB's role in uniting diverse communities through high-level play. We thank the Olympic Council of Asia committee for the honour of showcasing MLBB's qualities on this prestigious stage and look forward to witnessing the Games' top-tier competition that will inspire the next generation of esports athletes.

Ray Ng, Head of Esports Ecosystem at MOONTON Games

It has a successful international esports league, with high consistent viewership especially in the Asian regions.

Identity V

Identity V is an asymmetrical horror-survival game developed and published by NetEase. The game also has a hand from Behaviour Interactive who made Dead by Daylight. This fact is evident in the game's systems, where inspiration and influence from Dead by Daylight can be clearly seen.

Like DbD, Identity V pits one player against four, making it the first asymmetrical game in the Asian Games. It's worth noting that the memo and the official announcement refer to an "Asian Games Version," which most likely means that the tone of the game will be less grim and violence will be toned down.

We will give our all, with passion and determination, to showcase the unique charm of asymmetrical esports to the world.

Honor of Kings

Honor of Kings is a MOBA developed by TiMi Studio Group and published by Tencent Games for iOS and Android. Arena of Valor was a version of Honor of Kings, altered to tailor to the global audience. Last June 2024, Honor of Kings was instead released globally, effectively shutting down Arena of Valor.

Pokémon Unite

Pokémon Unite is a 5v5 MOBA for Android, iOS, and Nintendo Switch developed by TiMi Studio Group and published by The Pokémon Company. Apart from the usual MOBA mechanics, each team can also score goals to further their leads. Pokémon Unite implements familiar systems from the Pokémon franchise, including evolution and moveset customization. One system absent from Unite, however, is the effectiveness of certain moves based on move and Pokémon type.

Naraka: Bladepoint

Naraka: Bladepoint is described as a "wuxia action battle royale game," where a player aims to be the last one standing in a lobby of up to 60 players. The game is playable on modern consoles as well as Microsoft Windows and GeForce Now.

Gran Turismo 7

Gran Turismo 7 is the 2022 entry to the long-running sim racing video game franchise.

Efootball Series

Konami's eFootball is a series of association football sim games, developed and published by Konami.
