YouTube is cracking down on AI-generated and copied content. The platform is demonetizing anyone who creates content as such.
YouTube is cracking down on creators who simply use AI or reposts of other creators' videos for content. The popular video platform announced today that they will officially be demonetizing creators whose videos are primarily just reposts of other creators' content and more.
This is a big move for the platform, as many were making money by simply copying other people's content and posting it on their own channel.
YouTube users who create AI content will no longer get paid
There are many ways to create uncreative content on YouTube, as many "creators" have found ways to utilize AI or simply just copy another person's video by reposting it. However, YouTube is now making sure that anyone who takes on this lazy way to make content ends up making no money in the end.
This means that all reused content, AI-generated content, low-effort content and copied content will no longer make money on the website, marking a big win for creators who actually work hard on their videos.

In the past, TikTok has had the same issue, as many creators would just post someone else's video on their page and make a ludicrous amount of money, especially if the video was over one minute.
We are entering an age of original content; however, as many sites are fighting back against AI-generated content and more.

When will YouTube implement this rule?
Luckily, YouTube's new rule against AI-generated videos and copied content will go into effect on July 15, 2025. Don't create anything but your own original content? Then this rule will have no effect on you, meaning you can continue to create however you currently create.
This is a big step in the right direction for YouTube, as it will hopefully stop the rise of AI content.
