An Elden Ring live-action film adaptation has been confirmed by Bandai Namco and A24. Here’s what we know.
Bandai Namco has announced that the live-action film adaptation of Elden Ring will be produced by A24, and they also revealed the writer and director for the film.

Bandai Namco delivered the news to Elden Ring fans through their official social media accounts. The post reads:
"We’re thrilled to announce that Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. and A24 are teaming up with writer and director Alex Garland to bring FromSoftware Inc.’s world-renowned video game ELDEN RING to life as a live-action film.
We’re truly excited to bring the world of ELDEN RING to fans in a new form, outside the game.
Stay tuned. The path ahead is only beginning."
This reveal gives us vital pieces of information: that Alex Garland will write and direct the film for A24.
What the Elden Ring live-action film news tells us
A24 is best known for big box office hits like Everything Everywhere All at Once, Midsommar, and Uncut Gems, but the film distribution and production company has been incredibly active in recent years.
They are known for having a cult-like following in the indie film space and have influenced contemporary thrillers. A24's signature artistry and style give their films and series a unique element that sets them apart from major film studios.

Who is Alex Garland?
Alex Garland is an English author, screenwriter, and director. He is most known for the 28 Days Later series, which is receiving two new entries this year: 28 Years Later and 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple. Both of these are written and produced by Garland.
He made his directorial debut as the writer and director of Ex Machina, and has won various awards in his lengthy film career. However, he is no stranger to video games.
He has two game credits under his name. First is as a co-writer for Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, and second as a story supervisor DmC: Devil May Cry (the reboot title).

British film production company DNA Films is reportedly the one working on the Elden Ring live-action film adaptation.
A Song of Ice and Fire author George R. R. Martin had a hand in the worldbuilding of Elden Ring, and we all know he's not new to adaptations (see: Game of Thrones). Unfortunately, there is no information yet on his involvement with this film. The same goes for game director Hidetaka Miyazaki.
