The Chainsaw Man — The Movie: Reze Arc release date was confirmed at AnimeJapan 2025, which took place on March 22 and 23. One of the most anticipated movies of this year is almost there with a lot of comedy, new fights, love interests, and all that crazy good animation that MAPPA had us used to.

We all know that Denji is looking for the love of his life. After a date with Makima, the woman of his dreams, Denji takes shelter from the rain where he meets Reze, a girl who works in a coffee shop. He never thought he would have two girls looking out for him, which put him in a very hard position. Which one will he choose?

Reze has become a fan-favorite character in the manga community, thanks to her powerful emotional arc and significant role in the story. The upcoming Chainsaw Man movie serves as a direct sequel to the 2022 anime series, making it an essential watch for fans.

It is directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara, the same director as the show and other popular anime such as One Punch Man, My Dress-Up Darling, Black Clover, and the movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0, and written by Hiroshi Seko, the writer of Dandadan, Attack on Titan, Jujustu Kaisen, and Mob Psycho 100.

During the Chainsaw Man panel at AnimeJapan 2025, they unveiled artwork showcasing 12 key characters who will be part of the upcoming movie. Notably, fans can expect to see beloved main characters such as Denji, Makima, and Pochita. Additionally, the panel introduced new characters — most importantly, Reze, who gives her name to the highly anticipated sequel.
