With The International 2025 just around the corner, not every player’s journey to Hamburg has been smooth sailing, as Whitemon sits it out.
Visa troubles and unexpected circumstances have already forced a few roster changes for The International 2025, reminding fans that the road to TI is rarely without obstacles. Earlier, one Southeast Asian player was sidelined due to medical reasons. Wilson "poloson" Koh was confirmed to miss TI 2025 with tenosynovitis. Now, another unfortunate update has surfaced: Tundra Esports will be without their position five support, Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon.

Tundra Esports lose Whitemon for their TI 2025 challenge

After securing a third-place finish at last year’s International, Tundra Esports entered this season with hopes of pushing for the Aegis once again. While those ambitions are still alive, they’ll have to chase them without Whitemon. The organization confirmed his absence in a statement on their official X account, leaving fans both disappointed and anxious about the impact on their team’s performance.
Unfortunately Tundra will be competing at The International without Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon. This is due to unforeseen complications in the visa application process.
Every attempt was made to secure Matthew his visa, however extenuation circumstances outside of Tundra and Matthew’s control led us to this situation.
The team will adapt and press forward, and we’d like to thank Fissure Universe 5 Champ, Tobias “Tobi” Buchner, for stepping in at such short notice. He has been with the team the last few days preparing, and we are ready to face TI head-on and overcome adversity once more.”
At present, aside from Whitemon and poloson, along with the earlier withdrawal of Gaimin Gladiators, most players appear to have cleared the hurdles to Germany. With less than a week remaining before the action begins, the atmosphere is electric.
The full roster for Tundra without Whitemon is as follows:
- Remco "Crystallis" Arets
- Bozhidar "bzm" Bogdanov
- Neta "33" Shapira
- Martin "Saksa" Sazdov
- Tobias "Tobi" Buchner
Whether Tundra can adapt to this late roster shakeup could prove decisive as TI 2025 gets underway in Hamburg.
