Tundra Esports continues their reign as the best team in BLAST Slam tournaments.

In a dominant showing, Tundra Esports claimed the Dota 2 BLAST Slam V championship in Chengdu, China, with a clean 3-0 grand finals sweep over Team Yandex.

Tundra Esports captain Neta "33" Shapira, widely regarded as the best offlaner in today’s Dota 2 scene, led the team to victory over Team Yandex. Despite entering the finals as underdogs, Yandex proved themselves a legitimate threat after knocking out heavy favorites Team Falcons.

When asked about why other teams can’t beat and stop them in BLAST Slam tournaments, 33 responded with:

“I wish I knew why we are good at BLAST and bad at other tournaments. But I’m happy we won.”

Matthew "Ari" Walker, who plays position 4 for Tundra Esports, says during a post-game interview that he’ll never feel satisfaction with just a single win, and he commended his time playing with his teammates:

“I think my teammates are just really nice people that are easy to be around, easy to work with. There are no egos that are too crazy or anything like this. Like, it’s just too pretty enjoyable to just be in this team even if we’re away from home.”

Tundra Esports has now won four of the six tournaments organized by BLAST. The team dropped their first BLAST Slam run last year in BLAST Slam I after losing to BetBoom Team in the grand finals, but they bounced back by winning BLAST Slam II. Since then, Tundra Esports has held onto the trophy through the following BLAST Slam events.
