The North American team found themselves pushed to the limit in two close games against their SEA rivals, but ultimately couldn’t muster a win. The lost removes the chance for a three-way tiebreaker in Group B.

TSM’s TI11 woes

The elimination brings to an end a great season for TSM. The squad were one of the top teams in the NA region, winning the Regional Final of Tour of the DPC, and second place in Tour 2.

This led to a second place finish at the Stockholm Major, with a narrow loss to OG. Even with a weak end to their third tour, the team’s early success meant they were easily able to qualify for TI11.

But signs of trouble at ESL One Malaysia would spell disaster in the group stage of The International. The team failed to win a single best-of-two series, instead going even in their first two games, before a straight loss to Aster.

Overall the squad struggled with their Group B opponents, finding themselves evenly matched by most, but out matched by the likes of Team Secret, beastcoast, and finally, Fnatic.

With the loss, TSM FTX heads home with a currently unknown amount of prize money, with the prize pool distribution for TI11 currently unknown. Soniqs, the only other North American team remaining at TI, finds themselves in a three-way tie for eighth place, battling for survival.
