Topson now has a chance to get his third TI title as he joins defending TI champions, Tundra Esports, for the upcoming TI12.

Tundra Esports finally confirms the rumors. Two-time TI champion, Topson will play for the defending The International (TI) champions, Tundra Esports, this upcoming TI12. This follows Saksa's departure from Tundra's active roster as he takes an extended health break.

Tundra Esports roster for TI12:

  • Oliver "skiter" Lepko
  • Topias "Topson" Taavitsainen
  • Neta "33" Shapira
  • Leon "Nine" Kirilin
  • Jingjun "Sneyking" Wu

Topson joins Tundra Esports for TI12

Last year, Tundra Esports delivered one of the most dominant runs on the stage of TI - smashing the Upper Bracket and winning 3-0 in the Finals. They were completely unmatched. And in 2023, the team looks pretty solid to grab their back-to-back TI title. However, Tundra will enter TI12 with multiple drastic twists to its roster.

For a long time recently, there were rumors that called Topson's arrival in Tundra in place of Saksa. This was enforced by the fact that Saksa took multiple breaks and even had to fly home in the midst of a Dota 2 tournament. It is indeed true that Saksa will officially depart Tundra Esports' active roster as he takes an extended health break.

"Thank you, Martin (Saksa), for playing a pivotal role in our TI victory. You’ll forever be a part of our legacy and the Tribe," Tundra Esports posted.

Nine moves to position 4

With Saksa out of Tundra's roster, Nine has assumed the pos 4 responsibility - something he has never done before. But picturing Nine as a roaming support isn't exactly hard.

Nine is known for his unique hero pool that consists of unconventional mid heroes that can also function as a roamer. His active playstyle fits position 4 perfectly well and it wouldn't be a surprise if he aces the role during TI12.

"Hyped to play with Topson! As for me, a new chapter as pos 4 begins," Nine posted.
