TNC Predator returns to Dota 2 with Kuku as captain

TNC Predator returns to Dota 2 after a year away.

A nostalgic name enters among the professional Dota 2 teams as TNC Predator announces return! The team has been on an indefinite break for more than a year, stepping away in December 2022. But TNC is now here to stay, announcing an all-Filipino Dota 2 roster. Check out the complete lineup below!

TNC Predator Dota 2 roster:

  • Jinn Marrey "Palos" Lamatao
  • Yuri "Yowe" Pacaña
  • Joshua "Kokz" Maraño
  • John "Jing" Duyan
  • Carlo "Kuku" Palad

After almost a month of hints and teases, it is now official. TNC Predator comprises well-known Filipino pros including names like Yowe and Palos. The team will be led by veteran captain, Kuku, who will once again represent the organization.

TNC Predator has a decorated history in Dota 2

TNC Predator is one of the most notable Southeast Asian (SEA) organizations on the international Dota 2 stage. It is touted as the best SEA team back in the glorious days, ranging from 2016 to 2019. The organization boasts a long list of achievements in the most significant Dota 2 events, including Majors and The Internationals (TI).

Some of the organization's best achievements:

Placement
Tournament
Prize Earned
7th-8th
The International 2016
$519,262
1st
MDL Chengdu Major 2019
$300,000
4th
EPICENTER Major 2019
$80,000
4th
Dota 2 Asia Championships 2018
$85,000

However like many other teams, TNC would face a lackluster period. Throughout the 2021 - 2022 season, TNC Predator barely qualified to any tier 1 events and would fall behind other SEA organizations. It took an indefinite break in December 2022.

With TNC Predator now back in the region, competition intensifies. Will we see the new lineup shine this year or will the team take some time to pick up pace? TNC Predator's next tournament is not yet revealed but it is likely that we see the team participate in the Riyadh Masters qualifiers soon!
