The Road to The International is over, and the Top 8 teams in the world are ready for the playoffs stage of TI 2025. The tournament returned to Germany, where 16 teams had to qualify through a Swiss-format group stage.

But after four days of upsets and comebacks, these are the teams that will be playing for the biggest cut of the still-growing prize pool:

  • Xtreme Gaming (China)
  • Team Tidebound (China)
  • Nigma Galaxy (WEU)
  • Team Falcons (WEU)
  • PARIVISION (WEU)
  • Tundra Esports (WEU)
  • BetBoom Team (EEU)
  • HEROIC (SA)

For one part of the community, this has been the most unpredictable TI ever. It all started with the early elimination of Na'Vi, the youngest squad that dominated the WEU region's qualifiers. Then, we saw Team Liquid — the defending champions — and Team Spirit — who recently played two Grand Finals — leaving the tournament very early.

On the other hand, two unexpected teams joined The International 2025 playoffs: HEROIC, a team that is usually early eliminated in Tier 1 tournaments, and Nigma Galaxy, a team playing TI for the first time since 2019.

Unfortunately for SEA, both Team Nemesis and BOOM Esports were early eliminated. The region lost its representation despite the two slots that Valve designated this year. Also, Wildcard from the North American region didn't pass the Swiss stage.

As an anecdote, the games that led to The International 2025 Playoffs featured an unexpected Helm of Dominator meta. Some teams, like PARIVISION, had games where they bought the item for five of their heroes, including the support Monkey King.

TI 2025 playoffs schedule and where to watch

With only eight teams left, the double-elimination brackets start with all the teams in the Upper Bracket. The seeding is a result of the points each team got during the Swiss stage, matching the teams with the most points facing the ones with the least.
