Group Stage 2 sends four teams to the Playoffs.

Team Spirit faced off against Tundra Esports in Group Stage 2 of DreamLeague Season 24. The top four teams from the Group Stage 2 would advance to the Playoffs, with a top two placement meaning an upper bracket berth. Here’s how this series went down to the wire and how things played out.

Game 1

The first game was completely one-sided, as Team Spirit lost all three lanes. While Puck survived for the most part, Tundra’s Monkey King was significantly more impactful not only in the lane but also throughout the map. He ended the game with 11 frags and just two deaths to his name. It became imperatively more difficult for Team Spirit to counter Monkey King.

Tundra secured the laning phase taking a small lead. They then capitalized on their performance expanding their networth and GPM lead throughout.

Game 2

After the drubbing in the first game, Team Spirit were ready to bounce back in the second. The team a Willow, Pangolier, and a Void Spirit lineup, which seemed impossible to catch hold of. Tundra ran into the same problem as they were unable to lock down the Team Spirit heroes to deal fatal damage to the opponent’s lineup.

The laning stage was all but even, with Tundra even gaining a slight lead due to their superior mid game items. However, they were not able to capitalize on this lead. Instead, Team Spirit were allowed to get the crucial fighting items that they used to optimal effect.

Game 3

The third game saw a Visage pick by Tundra, a hero choice that raised a few questions. Visage is a hero that thrives in situations where there is constant fights. But going up against two strength heroes, Tusk and Dragon Knight, Visage did not really stand a chance. The offlaner focused more on stacking and farming creeps instead.

It was a similar story on the Team Spirit offlane with Tusk stacking creeps whenever possible. The game as relatively even for the most part, with both teams focusing more on getting crucial items out instead of fighting. It was only right at the end that Team Spirit pulled ahead after a brutal teamfight that saw them take a significant lead.

With this victory, Team Spirit get a leg up in the Group Stage 2. The Group Stage 2 of the DreamLeague Season 24 is the final group stage before the teams for the Playoffs are decided.
