Team SMG opted for big changes as TI12 draws near.
Southeast Asia's Team SMG is caught in the roster shuffle storm following the ESL One Berlin Major. The Singaporean organization has constantly made tweaks to its roster in previous Tours. Moon departs after two years with Team SMG
It might be odd to see Moon, often called the 'CEO' by the Dota 2 community, leave an organization. The community-given nickname jokingly paints him as the owner of his team and deems him immune to 'kicks'.
But all memes aside, Moon has been with Team SMG since June 2021 and had been a great addition to the local lineup. The 28-year-old player slowly climbed the DPC ladder with Team SMG, reaching their highest achievement by attending the ESL One Berlin Major.
Despite the positive progress, Team SMG's disappointing performance and bottom-placed finish may have been the reason for this roster change. As Tour 3 and TI12 approach closer, organizations have to make quick decisions and risky gambles to ensure a good run at the biggest tournament of the year.
Team SMG not only parted ways with Moon but also its pos 5 player, poloson, who had an on-off experience with this organization.
The replacements for Moon and poloson have yet to be announced.
