Team Aster becomes the first team to qualify for the Dota 2 Lima Major

Team Aster has already qualified for the Lima Major! Find out how they’ve crushed the China DPC and made their way to the Major.

The Lima Major is the first of four Dota 2 LAN events occurring over the Dota Pro Circuit 2023 season. With the division one qualifiers only just beginning, it was a surprise to see a team already qualify for a spot at the Major. But, Team Aster has topped their group with an outstanding score of 5-0. This high placement has allowed Aster to be the first of the 18 teams to qualify for the first Dota 2 LAN event of the 2023 season: The Lima Major.

Team Aster's Dominance in the 2023 DPC

Team Aster has had quite the start to their season. As they've come out swinging in the China 2023 DPC. Throughout both week one and week two of the DPC, Aster has come out top out of all their matches, either with a clean 2-0 sweep or a 2-1 victory. After their mid lanner Zeng "Ori" Jiaoyang retired and Zhai "Xwy" Jingkai took over, the community was skeptical at first considering how good Ori was.

However, Xwy blew everyone away.

Aster played against some of the strongest contenders in the China region. Teams like EHOME, Aries, Dawn and Xtreme Gaming who all have shown their merit over previous DPC seasons. Regardless, in only the second week of the DPC, Team Aster stands on top of the current standings at 5-0. Although they are closely followed by the titans of the region, PSG.LGD who reside with a 4-1 standings.

Aster have yet to face the likes of PSG.LGD. As their match is set to be one of the last of the China DPC 2023 Division one, tour one. Regardless of when their match is set to take place, this will showcase the strength of Team Aster.

Details of the Lima Major

The Lima Major is the first Dota 2 Major of the 2023 season and is the first ever to be held in South America. With the tournament being right around the corner, with qualifications already halfway over. The tournament is set to begin on Feb. 22 and will end on the March 5. Team Aster is the first of the total 18 teams heading to the event, with 3 other slots dedicated to the China region.
