One of NA’s greatest LoL talents has proved that he’s just as good at Dota 2
Zachary “Sneaky” Scuderi, former AD Carry for Cloud9’s League of Legends team, has reached the rank of Ancient in Dota 2 after just a few months of playing. The former League of Legends pro, turned streamer obtained the rank in under 300 games of play.
Ancient, approximately 4k MMR, is roughly equivalent to around Platinum in League of Legends, and represents the top 10% of players in Dota 2. There are two ranks above Ancient in Dota 2, Divine and Immortal. Divine is similar to Diamond, containing the top 2% of players. Immortal is subdivided into Immortal, Top 1000, Top 100, and Top 10, similar to Grandmaster and Challenger in League of Legends.

Sneaky’s rise to the top of Dota 2
Sneaky, a former ADC, took to the game’s Carry or One Position like a duck to water, and instantly gelled with the game. After completing around 120 unranked games, in order to complete the ranked prerequisite of 100 hours of unranked games of any kind, Sneaky primarily played in party with Archon rank friends. Sneaky calibrated to a similar rank, and continued queuing with friends until reaching the higher echelons of the ranking system.
In the game that saw him reach Ancient, Sneaky was solo, gaining the final 60 MMR to put him to 3890 MMR and the threshold for Ancient I (In Dota 2, ranks increase in number the higher they are, so Ancient 1 is the lowest Ancient rank, and Ancient 5 is the highest).
Now Sneaky, who reached Challenger in League of Legends for multiple seasons, and is one of the most successful NA LoL players, is shooting for the top ranks of Dota 2. If he reaches Immortal, he may become one of the first players ever to have obtained the highest ranks in both games. Maybe we’ll even see Sneaky bring some of his cosplay talents to some of Dota’s heroes.
Sneaky remains on the Cloud9 staff as an advisor. Perhaps he could advice the team to take yet another chance on Dota 2, despite their previous three attempts ending poorly.
