How the Play-In format works

In the Riyadh Masters Play-In Stage, twelve teams are divided into two groups of six. These teams comprise those who qualified to Riyadh Masters via the regional qualifiers. Meanwhile, the eight invited teams await in the Group Stage.

During this stage, teams will play in a single round-robin format with every match being a BO2 (best-of-two). The top three teams will advance to the Group Stage while the bottom team faces elimination.

The 4th and 5th team from each group will face each other in a Decider round with the winners getting to the Group Stage and the loser eliminated. The Decider round will play out as follows:

  • Group A 4th vs Group B 5th
  • Group A 5th vs Group B 4th

Ultimately, only eight teams will survive to make it into the Group Stage. Meanwhile, four teams will exit early. Teams waiting in the Group Stage are: Team Falcons, BetBoom Team, Gaimin Gladiators, Xtreme Gaming, Tundra Esports, Team Liquid, OG, and Team Spirit.

Play-In Stage: Date and schedule

The Play-In Stage will take place from July 4 to 7.
