Many were hoping to see the fateful duel between Old G and their younger counterparts, OG, at the Pinnacle Cup: Malta Vibes Dota 2 tournament. However, that hope was broken when two Eastern European (CIS) teams took them out of the equation.

Today, CIS gets to be the sunflower slayers. Both Virtus Pro and ex-HellRaisers dominated OG and Old G 2-0, eliminating them from the tournament. On the back of their recent successes (OG securing Berlin Major slot and Old G opening strong in Division II), their losses came as quite the bitter pill to swallow.

For now, it looks like it is going to take some time before fans can witness the highly anticipated generational clash between OG and Old G. The surest way to make this fateful encounter a reality is by having Old G perform well at the Western Europe Dota Pro Circuit (WEU DPC) Division II and get promoted to Division I for Tour 3. Until then, everyone can only continue to dream.
